I absolutely adore La Isla! I moved here after staying 2 nights at one of the party hostels. It was such a nice change. The space is beautiful and full of love. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is delicious. The dorm rooms are clean and feel very safe. I would recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a charming & quiet stay. There are common spaces and a kitchen so you can still meet other travelers if you’re alone. Highly highly recommend!!! 

They have amazing staffs who are really kind, fun, and give you super helpful tips. The price is cheap, the location is perfect(close to the main street) and they also have excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed the time in there and already missed this great hostel!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the lovely hosts of La Isla. They were warm, helpful, fun and so very kind. The place was clean and the vibe was easy and relaxed.

Outstanding stay in this beautifull place! Perfect vibe, great breakfast and hot showers. Most lovely staff, really helpfull with all things you want to do outside the hostel.

Really don't get the few negative reviews on here.. It's by far the nicest place I've stayed in in Mexico.

Booked one night and ended up staying for four, La Isla hostel is thoughtfully decorated, has a warm atmosphere, helpful and kind staff and volunteers. The hostel is also centrally located, bear the main square and good eats. Highly recommended. 

This was a great experience! Best of all is the staff, they are lovely and they connect people what creates a great vibe. They organize a great community dinner on sundays for a good price. That’s a great platform to connect. Furthermore, it’s not a party hostel but the atmosphere couldn’t be better,at 11pm it’s silent, just perfect (there are enough party places around for those who want)! The decoration of the hostel is unique & creates good feelings. 5star breakfast, shower hot, cool terrace and common areas, everything clean, comfy mattress, location perfect. Overall, lovely hostel, would come again, highly recommended!

Wonderful hosts

Felt like home 

As previous reviewers have mentioned don’t waste your money by booking a private room here. Definitely not value for money when there are so many accommodation options in town. Not sure about the dorm rooms, they might be better.

- room was unclean
- no working light in the toilet 
- bathroom was accessed via the terrace so if you need to use it in the night you need to get dressed and put on shoes which is a bit inconvenient 
- room was so small there wasn’t even any space to store rucksacks. We had to climb over them to get in and out of the room 
- staff began playing loud music around midnight which went on until 2am despite them knowing we had to get up at 5am to catch a bus
- staff refused to book us a taxi to the bus station when we asked the night before. They told us there would be plenty of taxis in the street at that time. This was not the case and we almost missed our bus.
