A great place: maybe the best view of this magic town. Friendly staff, many beautiful details: paintings, rugs from Mayan villages, Thailand, India,etc.. A nice living room on terrace to enjoy the view, the owner speaks several languages & has lived in many countries.. Also they offer private tours by car, vans, hourses, etc..


A beautiful place with the best view of the magical town of San Cristobal de las Casas, with the best service, very clean, very friendly and hospitable people, all very well equipped, very good taste in its decoration, its location near the center, I felt like home.

We had a nice time: everybody kind & nice. 
Highly recommended.. The place is about 6 blocks from downtown, 4 from the main pedestrian street, everything close, at the side there is a pedestrian st. with garden,
that is a plus because is quite, the huge terrace with an amazing view.

We stayed at Casa de la vista for close to ten days. The view over San Cristobal is absolutely spectacular, from the shared terrace or from the top apartment (#1). On the down side, the other apartments or rooms offer less view, or none. Walls between rooms can be paper-thin--not much intimacy. Most of the windows are sealed close, presumably against the cold, but it gets a bit stifling and damp. 
Positive: The place is in a quiet neighborhood, on a spectacular hill-top, a fifteen-minute walk down the main thoroughfare to the main square of the city. Nice little shops to buy fruit, pollo asado, tortillas round the corner, good kitchen, but the plates and cutlery show signs of wear. We were unlucky with the help, who could not do the cleaning we counted on because she was ill, so this experience was probably untypical, but it was good to have staff around during the day who could help and give advice.

A wonderful experience

As mentioned by a few others, it's very common that they cancel the reservation like 2 hours before arrival. Since I didn't have internet on my phone, I had no idea until I already was at the place. That's when I got the email about cancellation. Also it was forwarded to 5 other people. So it's what they do apparently. Really unprofessional behavior, and they didn't speak any English at all so they made me look like the bad guy. Stay somewhere else!!
