For the rates charged this is one of the best stays anywhere. With an incredibly warm and personable ownership/staff this small family-run hotel really does feel like home.

Not only is the unique decor full of  current art, but the hotel can arrange for seriously legit tours of the seemingly endless and highly inventive street art of Cholula, personally guided by legendary local artists.

The rooftop also offers absolutely incredible views of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes!

What a Fantastic stay I had in el cascabel. Great hosts, Great rooms, Great food and drinks in their coffeebar. I recommend this place to everyone! Nice location in cholula, not far from puebla.. The hosts can give you Great tips for visits..

Wonderful family run hostel with an attached café - free breakfast in the café every morning.
We arrived late due to bus delays, but it wasn't a problem. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, as our Spanish is really bad, they helped us contact venues in Cholula to check opening times around the Bank holiday, and even bus stations and our next hostel to help us plan the next stage of our trip.
They let us borrow bikes for free to get around Cholula - these were limited in number, so don't expect to have them if the hostel is busy!
Lovely room with en suite, a balcony - and two roof terraces if you prefer! Lovely garden to boot.
All in all, best hosts we've had in Mexico so far, fantastic hostel. Highly recommended. 

The very welcoming and nice owners Cynthia and Stoffel make El Cascabel your second home. They provide you with a wealth of useful information about their city and the region. El Cascabel is located in a quiet part of the student area with cozy restaurants and cafes. At El Cascabel we got the best breakfast of our 32 day trip through Mexico. Their coffee shop is very cozy and they serve their own organic coffee. The trip to and our hike between the two volcanoes Popo and Izta is unforgettable. You should definitely not mis the cozy Zócalo and market of San Pedro Cholula. The regional food in the covered market is just great. The beautiful city of Puebla is worth a visit, the bus stop just outside El Cascabel makes this very easy. The rooms in El Cascabel are at a very very fair price. Cynthia and Stoffel thanks a lot !!

El Cascabel is charming place. We stayed there for two nights and would consider it again as first option on a potential Cholula visit in the future. You can sense the love and dedication that has been put into decorating the rooms and the small cafe attached to the B&B. The breakfast was very good too, fruit salad and bread, honey, cheese, jam, coffee,  tee. The owners are very nice people, trying to help and adopt to the needs of the guest wherever they could. Highly recommended this place!

My partner and I stayed only one night but regardless, we were treated very well by the owners and their staff.  They let us use their bikes at no charge and the room we stayed in was clean and cozy.  The only little thing I would comment is that from our room, we could hear almost everything that was going on below us.  The cafe part of the establishment is equally very charming!
