Hotel Riu Tequila - All Inclusive

This was our first time to Mexico and we had a fabulous time at the RiuTequila. Never been to a hotel that All Inclusive really did mean all inclusive. The drinks menu was unbelievable and if it wasn't on the menu you only had to ask. On the whole the food, drinks and entertainment were absolutely brilliant although the lasagne/pizza in the Italian was not good but the steak in there was excellent (as good as any I've had). The mexican restaurant down at the beach left us underwhelmed as we expected spicy tasty food,which it was neither, but the main buffet was good with lots of choice (particularly enjoyed the fish and seafood) and we enjoyed both the steak and Asian restaurants and visted them twice (recommend the burger in the steak restaurant). Really liked that we could vist the Yucaton or Playacar for lunch and drinks and you can have just drinks at all three day or night although we were quite happy to stay at the Tequila of an evening because the entertainment was good. All staff work extremely hard and are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and they are a credit to the hotel (big shout out to Ana in the 24 hour Sports Bar for her excellent service). The White and Neon parties were extremely entertaining to people watch. I thought it would be too loud and not my thing but they were awesome. If there is one thing that Riu should take on board is to have parasols down at the beach (other hotels have them?) and more around the pools. The sun was fierce at this time of year and not enough shade provided. We would return if we get the opportunity to do so but perhaps when it's not quite as hot. Thanks Riu for a brilliant holiday.
