The Good: This property is centrally located which is two blocks away from cathedral. Very safe to be walking around this perimeter. Rebecca at front desk was very helpful sharing all tips, tours info and guidance to everything we needed. The coffee in the morning is really good (complementary).The bad: Needs to be fix in little details that could make the difference. Shower heads were corroded inside and water were coming out everywhere but the center and it was hard to have a real good shower. Some bulbs were missing. bathroom sink faucet was old and corroded. I'll say if all this little details were improved this could be a great place to stay.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! It’s filthy dirty!! The architecture of the building is the only thing you should see. The stay was the worse we’ve ever had.

Adorable historic building, large airy rooms, dark beams, plastered traditional walls, comfortable beds, crisp linens (the towels smell sweet), and the staff couldn't be more attentive!

Best hotel in Morelia!!

It is a noisey hotel. The rooms are not very clean and there are a few things broken and not fixed, but for the price ok. Close to the centre which is very nice. Breakfast could be better, coffee, no fresh juice, nice fruit and everyday changing 'main'. But in case you don't like it you can't have something else. 

Stay during Dia de Muertos 

This hotel was an excellent deal and very well located.  The rooms were clean and everything was in good order.  The staff was friendly and flexible. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard and offers a complementary breakfast, which was tasty and pleasant.

Excellent Location, quite comfortable.

I had a spacious, comfortable room on the 2nd floor, good bed and pillows, excellent wifi, bottle of water provided each day (3 nights) friendly, helpful staff that were very welcoming, good price, clean and lots of hot water in the shower.
There was a different, cooked breakfast each of my 3 mornings, served at a table...lovely surprise.

Great location and breakfast

We stayed here because of a recommendation from the New York Times travel section.  It was described as the most decent, clean, cheap hotel near the historical center.  The price was 450 pesos for two people with two beds on the first floor.  For the price it was more than adequate for our needs.  Very clean, good cable tv, amazing location, real nice people at the desk.  We were very pleased since we didn't make reservations and just walked in at noon and checked in.  Try to stay on the first floor, off the street because of the noise.  Morelia is so very beautiful I want to tell everyone to go there and see it.

Just what I needed

We tried this place after reading a couple of reviews, but we were disappointed. The first room was dismal, small, and dark. The second room we were shown was upstairs, large, bright, and very hot, but there was water on the bathroom floor from a leaky sink. The third room was hot, but fine, until closer inspection revealed loads of exposed carpet nails around the perimeter of the room. It's a shame -- the property has lots of potential, but much of what would make it beautiful (courtyard, fountains, etc) looks neglected and in disrepair.


Not what we expected

This hotel was recommended by the school I attended, El Centro Cultural de Lenguas. It is a nice hotel for the price of 28 U.S. dollars for a single. It has a good location...only about three/four blocks from the main plaza and the heart of all activity. It is two blocks from the Artesians and Candy Mercado/Market. The rooms are clean and have a phone and television, however, I only stayed two nights instead of 10 because they do not take credit cards. Also, one lady on the staff can use a course in public relations. By the time I left, she had gotten nicer because I treated her super nice regardless. They have a small coke and water machine, and also sell some toiletries like shampoo and toothpaste.
