Beautiful place..clean and staff were awesome..

This place is a few blocks from downtown. Staff is very nice and place is very clean.

The Hotel is very close to a several eatery places.

This was a great stay as the hotel is located 3 blocks from center of town but it has typical wooden bungalow to stay that include fireplace

Nice gardens, friendly and very helpful employees

Very clean and quiet, a place to enjoy the nature.

It was perfect. Service and food great ...

In a really large, cozy property with different fruit trees all over. It's a little bit of a walk from the main plaza, but it's not too far to be so burdensome. Room was small but comfortable, and had a fireplace. Wish they would have given access to more firewood free of cost.

Every once in a while I stay at a hotel that gets just about everything right.  This is one of them.  The room set up, the cleanliness, the grounds, the location and the staff.  Everything was close to perfect.  There's very secure parking on the grounds, but if your without car, it's a pretty good hike to the Plaza, especially the uphill return.  The only negative was that the free breakfast is in Centro, not at the hotel.  I would certainly stay here again.

Really Nice

The hotel is a very steep walk from the town plaza. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. I parked my car without any problem. There were few if any additional guests. Our room was well designed and reflected the woodsy nature of Mazamitla. The gardens were very impressive lush with lemon and avocado trees. No one spoke English in the office which was not a problem for us. They gave us a coupon for a breakfast at another inn in the plaza. Although I think we caught them by surprise, they made us a nice breakfast of eggs, ham and toast with very decent coffee. There was good WiFi in our room and a TV with Spanish language programming. It was crisp and quiet at night. I did not light the wood in the fireplace but it was ready if you wanted to. There did not seem to be any restaurant or bar in operation on site but perhaps this was due to the season. It was a good place to spend the night and I was not disappointed. The electric outlets were two prong which might be a problem if you have to charge devices.

Rustic and charming

The Hotel Huerta Real fits in well with the town Mazamitla. The property is lush with well cared for vegetation, plants and trees which blend in nicely with the rooms. In mid January we seemed to be the only guests staying there. The room had a rugged beauty with rough hewn beams and a well designed and pleasing architecture. 

I do not know if it had a restaurant currently in operation. They gave us a coupon which sent us into town to the Posada Alpina for our breakfast which was included. I think we came to the Posada Alpina at 8:30 am as a big surprise but they did make us a nice enough breakfast. 

The hotel is only about a quarter kilometer at most from the town but it is a very steep walk from the town to the hotel. If you are in shape, this should not be a problem but if you are not, it will be a strain. Of course you have to repeat the process every time you go to town. 

There was a small parking lot but as I stated above, being what appeared to us as the only guests, we had plenty of room for our car. This might be an issue during a busier season. The electrical outlets we all double pronged so we could not charge of laptop and some other devices. They included a hair dryer so that wasn't a problem. There was ample room for storage and there was a TV in the room which only had Spanish programming. 

The bathroom was small but quite nice, completely satisfactory for our needs. The staff did not speak any English which was not a problem for us but might be for others.

Probably the hotel deserves a rating between 4 and 5 stars but it was not quite a five so I rated them conservatively. A lot depends on what you are looking for.

Rustic Charm

Very nice rooms with comfortable beds, a fireplace, and a large shower, located a short walk from the centro.  It was very quiet in the evening despite being very lively on a Saturday night in town.  Breakfast was included and was adequate but if we weren't leaving early, I would have chosen a better option. 

Very relaxing 

We were there for a wedding so it was convenient and practical for us. Grate location, beautiful views and delicious food! Rooms had a fireplace which was a nice touch. The 2 not so good points were that the sun light hit one side of the bed directly so no way to sleep in and it took them a while to figure out I had prepaid.

Overall, I was pleased with this hotel and would stay there again. The property is beautiful and the location in Mazamitla is nice.But, I should point out that the room description on hotels.com at the time of my reservation was not accurate. For example, the room that I reserved is referred to as an "Alcatraz" room listed as having a kitchen, LED television, and a king-sized bed. Upon arrival at the hotel, I learned that Alcatraz is the name given to one room. This room has a queen sized bed plus a daybed. The room doesn't have an oven, stove, microwave, or refrigerator. This wasn't a problem for me, but it might be for someone reserving the room who really wanted a kitchen.
