Hotel Rio Queretaro

There were 4 of us & we spent 4 nights in three rooms. I had stayed in this hotel previously & knew it to be a good value in a convenient location. It's in the historic center on a narrow, pedestrian alley lined with small restaurants. We chose upgraded rooms, mini-suites I believe, which are large & have ample storage for clothes and suitcases. The modest, extra-cost was well worth it. Rooms have AC, a flat-panel TV, decent wifi both for signal strength & speed, comfortable mattresses, ample hot water and a basket of travel amenities is provided. The hotel is on 3 floors & there is no elevator. There are ground-floor rooms but I think they would be noisy because they front a seating area for meetings & dining. The only negative comment for the hotel is the noise in the rooms of people talking and sometimes singing at the restaurants in the alley at night. This was mostly noticeable on the weekend. If you are a very light sleeper, be aware. It was not intrusive enough to bother any of the 4 people in our group. Some of the employees speak English but I don't know if there is always an English-speaker on duty. All the employees were friendly & helpful. There is no on-site parking but I think the hotel has recommended, nearby parking. We all would definitely return to the hotel on a future trip.
