Amazing situation, just next to Santa Rosa de Viterbo. Quite cheap - paid around 380 euros (325 pounds) for two weeks, in a semi-private room for two (shared bathroom - private room). Only one bathroom for the whole floor though, very annoying. The wifi is very bad, disconnecting all the time. Won't recommend breakfast, it's quite bad... Even if the vue is perfect, the noise coming from the dancing water with music is very disturbing and quite irritating. But the hostal is quite central and there is a nice bar and a nice restaurant (with good burritos and quesadillas) just next to it. There is also a supermarket (Mega) 5-10 minutes walking from there. Taxis are quite easy to grab, except at night.

good situation

My husband and I stayed in this hostel for 4 days, we had a private room with a private bathroom. I booked it because the place looked good on the photos, it was centrally located, and the rates were reasonable. I originally wrote a request in English (assuming somebody on the staff spoke it, since they had a web-site in English). I got a response back in Spanish. For me it wasn't a problem to communicate back, as I do speak the language, but I think it demonstrated very poor organizational and communication skills on the part of the hostel's management. The ladies that run the place were reserved, but helpful when asked questions (in Spanish). We didn't see any foreigners staying in the place, only Mexicans.

The room we got was very spacious and clean, with a king-size bed that was actually comfortable. The room was cleaned every day. We had a great view to the church. 

But our biggest frustration was with the unpleasant noise church bells would make every morning: starting at 6 am, then twice more every 15 minutes... Sometimes they would ring at midnight also... We didn't have a single night of uninterrupted sleep at that place.

Other negative things:
- Wi-fi only worked at the 1st floor, by the reception desk.
- Kitchen was only available between 8 am - 8 pm.
- Water tank is located underground with it's opening at the ground level, and it didn't have a lid on it - anything could get inside during rain, and we saw bugs floating on water surface... We only discovered this at the end of our stay - definitely not recommended brushing your teeth with tap-water.

Not an international hostel, for sure

I stayed at the hostel for about a week, during which time the bathroom was cleaned once. Unfortunately, they forgot the toilet. People started throwing their used toilet paper on the floor cause the bin was overflowing, and the floor was so dirty that it grossed me out to take a shower. In only stayed there because it was the cheapest I could find, and on the plus side, the beds are good and have curtains. The management was always trying to get more money out of people....for example, there was one girl who stayed there for a month, and on her last day she asked if she could leave her backpack in the hostel for a few hours after checkout. The manager told her it would be 50 pesos per hour to leave her bag in the (completely empty) dorm. She ended up paying for an extra night cause that was cheaper than paying for storage. 
Also, if you stay here, try to get a dorm upstairs. The ones downstairs are tiny and don´t have windows. Oh, and don´t use booking.com for this hostel. They will take your money but ignore your booking.

Dirty, unpleasant management

El hotel no se parece en nada a las fotos que ellos muestran. La persona de la recepción fue amable y tiene buena ubicación, sin embargo el cuarto parecía un lugar abandonado y sucio.
Había cabellos en las almohadas, no salía agua en la regadera, era frío y lleno de polvo.

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures they show on their site. The woman who was in charge of the reception was very helpful and the hotel has very convenient location: near downtown. 
Nevertheless, the room looked abandoned and dirty. There were hairs in the pillows, the shower didn't have water (neither hot nor cold…no water at all), the room was very cold and full of dust.

Hotel sucio y descuidado / Very dirty and disgusting hotel

Dirty, humid, uncomfortable, noisy, and there are RATS!!!!! I paid for 3 nights, and I want to leave but they won't refund my money, which is about $45 USD. Nor will they let me change to a different room.
