What can I say about El Panorama de la Penita...or Casa Maria as it's called locally.
We just spent 12 relaxing, wonderful nights there.  Tom and Paul were so accommodating, gracious hosts...Tom's breakfasts were amazing.  Bed was extremely comfortable and the sunrises over the mountains were as amazing as the sunsets over the ocean.
Thanks for the wonderful stay...just what the Dr. ordered after a busy holiday season.  We will be back!

The Pacific and a picturesque view of Coral Island in the front with an amazing scene from of the Sierra Madres in the back! Beautiful location, architecture and charm! The rooftop views are the best in town!

This amazing property is stunning not just for its décor and location, but also for the breakfasts, the hosts, the spaciousness and the chance to immerse yourself, to whatever degree is your comfort, in the local community. We were fortunate to have the Deluxe Suite which offered us views over the ocean and the Sierra Madres.  We found this community to be charming and welcoming and look forward to returning. Tom makes the most delicious breakfasts and both he and Paul are warm, generous with their knowledge and kindness.

The hill up to El Panorama looks rather intimidating but is quite manageable. In  fact it is a nice little work out. The walk to the beach was less than 20 minutes and takes you on a lovey stroll through the community. 

This is a definite place to stay when in the area!

This was our second stay with Tom and Paul. What did we like? SO much:
- an absolutely stunning view from the rooms and the rooftop pool and deck
- a variety of great filling breakfasts (omelet, eggs benedict, quiche, scrambled eggs,  french toast, pancakes . . ) with assorted fruit, toast and yogurt
- extremely comfortable beds in spacious rooms in a tidy, clean and beautiful house
- a kitchen area to cook in or just to concoct your beverages 
- a few people to visit with or go on daytrips with
- inexpensive groceries nearby (we actually had fruit salad as our evening meal 3 times in the 14 days because the fruit was beautifully fresh and flavourful) as well as good restaurants for shrimp or tacos or margaritas . . .
- charming hosts that were willing to chat but never intruded
We had planned on doing more daytrips, since the first time we went we spent most of the week relaxing by the pool, but the call of the quiet, relaxing rooftop deck was too strong--we spent many hours reading in the lounge chairs or floating in the pool. Most days we went into town, and although taxis up the steap hill were cheap, usually walking up and down to town (about 15 minutes at a wandering speed) was the only type of exercise we did! We will be returning, hopefully with more family members next time.

Thoughtful & engaging hosts, every space beautifully decorated, gourmet breakfasts, very comfortable beds, stunning views.  We kept ourselves in shape hiking the hill once or twice a day while others easily cabbed it. We embraced the daily/nightly sounds of roosters crowing, dogs barking, and Mexican music playing - all part of La Peñitas charm.  The top deck was a great place to connect with other guests, enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, relax and read a good book, prepare a light supper with fresh food from the local market/grocers, and sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the Pacific.  Thank you Tom & Paul for such a memorable experience in this jem of a town!!

Found paradise on top of the hill in La Peñita. Hilltop panoramic view of the bay and the hills to the East. Tom and Paul are the consummate hosts inviting you into their little piece of paradise. The home is spectacular with rooftop pool, large open spaces in a quaint, rural Mexican community. Best kept secret in Mexico!

My husband and I enjoyed 3 weeks at Casa Maria. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was a unique experience! How awesome to watch the dawning of a new day, watching the sun rise over the mountains and watch the sunset over the ocean! We spent alot of time on the rooftop terrace!! Spectacular views! The pool was refreshing! There is a kitchen,which we enjoyed cooking a few meals! Tom served us a superb breakfast every morning! Loved the coffee. We walked down the steep hill to La Penita many days!! There are many unique and delicious restaurants! We went to Los Ayala and Guayabitos! Both beaches are nicer then La Penitas. Every weekend Tom &Paul hosted a Breakfast at Tiffany's. We met some wonderful people who attended it. Tom and Paul were gracious hosts. I always enjoyed Paul's stories!! Overall it was a fun,fabulous time!
