Firstly, the photos posted by forinahonolulu are not of las brisas Melaque. Secondly, this hotel is right on the beach which includes a perfect sunrise and sunset every day! Has a kitchen and rooms recently renovated so they are much nicer now. Close to many shops and restaurants and a 15 minute walk away from the weekly market. Has a childrens pool which is maybe about 7m and a regular pool probably about 12 m. Well worth it if you plan on staying a while!

I'm not sure some of the reviewers have the right hotel. It has always been one of the lower priced places on the beach.  No way are they charging 100 dollars a night and the posted fotos don't even look like Melaque let alone the Las Brisas

Used to always stay there when vacationing.  Now I live in Melaque

My second home

Once I spotted the white Adirondack chairs on the giant verandah from the beach I knew I wanted to stay there. This is an older hotel. Nice pool at the front of the courtyard, fantastic beach at the back. There is a shared kitchen with many stove tops available,a full sized fridge in your own room. There are nice tables and chairs to enjoy you meal on.
The room I have is very basic. It does have both a fan and an air conditioner. Bed and pillows ok. Linens and towels pretty bad but not stained. 
Staff are very responsive. Not much English spoken but with my negligible Spanish everything was dealt with nicely.(I had some issues figuring out how things worked.)
I would recommend this hotel for anyone seeking budget beachfront. Great location!

Peace at the beach

Just like the title says. We paid good money to have a great expericence with our family on the beach. Yes the hotel is beachfront good location, but it does not justify the price, quaility and lack of customer service of the hotel. We arrived Friday afternoon way after check in time and our rooms were not even clean yet, they had actually given our reservation away, but since we had paid a deposit he had to give us our room back.  Then issues with towels. We were only able to get one towel per person, then to be able to get a new towel you have to leave your room, go to the front desk, and get a new towel, if you can call it that. More like a shredded dish rag. I went to the front desk at about 3 pm the next day to get a "new" towel. I was told that they didnt have any clean towels and to come back later.. seriously? I am a well paying customer and you don't have any towels? If i were the owner of that establishment.. there are no towels??.... okay send someone across the street and buy 50-60 towels for your guests!  Then that night the owners son got into an argument with my husband about the music, there was a loud beachfront wedding going on right outside of the hotel, you could barely hear our music as it was overpowered by the loud wedding outside and you're going to be as rude as you possibly can be and use profanity towards us for some music that you could barely hear??? Do yourself a favor and for the same price go to a hotel 10 mns away for the same price and amazing customer service! O and the picture in the hotel page is not the hotel at all.

Bad Experience, Way overpriced

w3e have stayed im melaque many times.  we had reservations at another hotel for the first week then needed to find another hotel.  Hotel las brisas charged us $100 for super crappy room ...in terrible shape. very dirty, bugs , chipped tile , a broken shower door.  real scumbags to charge someone $100  for such a crappy room.   This was in JANUARY OF 2010.   WOULD NOT RECOMEND TO ANYONE.....
