My sister and I stayed at this hotel from April 9-16..  it’s a small boutique hotel with a pool right on the ocean!  For the price we paid it was a great hotel.  The front desk staff are very friendly and accomodating.  We booked the Ocean view king and double bed room, it was very spacious and had a king bed and a double bed in the room, with al medium sized fridge.  Our balcony overlooked the pool and the ocean, it was beautiful to wake up to each morning!  They had wifi, it don’t work in the room but there was a common area with chairs just down the hall where it worked great.  The location of this hotel is perfect as it right on the malcoen walkway along the ocean and close to the grocery store, and hildalgo where all the stores and restaurants are.  The pool area was great, with tables and chairs as well as lounge chairs and small tables!  We would definitely stay again again and would recommend to others.  I gave it four stars as it was very clean, and perfect for the cheap price we paid for a week!

Great Stay at Hotel Boca Iglesia

We reserved a large room with 2 kind beds and a balcony facing the ocean over Christmas. Overall, our stay was fine, but we felt the hotel is not being used to its full potential and better options can be found at this price point until they make a few improvements. 

The positives: great location, a couple blocks from the ferry station, 1 block from the supermarket and many ATMs, 2 blocks from golf cart rental offices, 10 min walk to the beach. The room is huge, very clean, nice new bedding, huge kind beds, has a fridge, beautiful view of the ocean from the room and balcony. 

The negatives: shower pressure is almost non-existent and showerheads need replacement, towels are super rough, curtains don't block any light (bring eye mask), pool is not set up even during Christmas week, WiFi doesn't work in the rooms, the hotel lacks warmth/soul...

WARNING - this hotel advertises room rates in USD on their website and on Booking.com and charges a deposit in USD in advance of your stay. However, they ask you to pay the balance in person where they charge only in pesos and use an inflated conversion rate from USD to make additional profit. To avoid this deceitful practice, bring cash in USD to pay your balance. We tried to argue this to no avail. They even created laminated cards to explain their "policy" on site to guests in English - the problem is they don't mention this anywhere BEFORE you book. There is no explanation why they are able to charge your deposit in USD before your stay, but can only charge in pesos on site at an inflated rate (except to make an extra profit - in our case about $35 USD).

Ok stay, not utilizing all of its potential

We chose this hotel for the proximity with the town center. Location is great next to everything you need. Front desk is ok nothing special. Rooms are ok too, nice view to the sea. No shampoo given so bring yours.

Ok for 1 night 

Right on the east side by the water. Town square and supermarket right across the street.
Good wifi and nice having a fridge. Coffee in the lobby in the morning.
Overall a good budget hotel with attentive staff.

Great location

We started in room 103 but with no hot water in the shower they graciously moved us to 104. Staff is great. View of ocean outstanding. P.  S. bring eye covers ,curtains don’t stop light. Brand new place, super clean with comfy king bed. 104 has direct access to patio. Overhead fan plus new air conditioner was a plus. Supermarket  1 minute walk away. Turn on hot water ahead of time in suites.  Balconies on all units. 5 minutes to the beach. Staff actually care to see you. 24 hours at front desk also. We wanted the second floor but loved 104. Fridge TV are new like everything else. 14 years coming to Isla Mujeres. Will rebook here again!!

Very nice place to stay

Our room/bathroom was very simple - but clean.  The bed was very comfortable.    Balcony provides terrific view of Atlantic ocean.  You can fall asleep listening to the waves.  
The hotel is located at the edge of the action so everything is within walking distance.  There's a grocery store just around the corner and the ferry is just a few blocks away.  
The room includes a good size, new-ish bar fridge, ceiling fan and air conditioning.  Keep all food in the fridge or you'll invite tiny flies/ants.  The room doesn't include a safe but we didn't have any issues.  The staff are friendly enough.  The room has Wi-Fi.  
On the negative side, the towels were a bit stained and we didn't feel that comfortable using them - but they are clean.  Also, the soap bars are cheap - bring your own soap and shampoo.
We paid $109 US per night.  You can find better deals elsewhere in person but we booked last minute and we used the airbnb app.  We were surprised to learn on arrival that this is a hotel - not a private residence.  
If they offered a lower price (better value, more competitive), we would stay there again.
