Very nice spot, close to the beach and from music venues.

This is a unique, beautiful and friendly place. Truely one of a kind. A few other hotels near the beach are bigger and seem newer, but were shoulder to shoulder with people and lacked the rich character of Xquenda. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Huatulco.

The location is excellent, quiet, peaceful and around a minute walking distance from the beach. It’s a place that I will definitely stay again when I come back.

This is a lovely, quaint, small boutique hotel. They have a wonderful lap pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed/pillows and air con. The water is lukewarm, which is ok because the weather is so hot. I had a nice balcony with a view of a square, gardens and a bit of the ocean. Amazing birds to watch and listen to. It was very quiet and peaceful here except on a Sunday morning when they held a school sports meet at the pool and across the street in the park. It was a surprise but I didn’t mind as I teach  in a school and found it interesting. The breakfast was very good and the cook was very accommodating. The spa service was excellent and the woman who gave me a massage was wonderful. She said she does her work out of love and that was very evident and appreciated. The owners were very kind and lovely, and very helpful. It was too bad the Temazcal wasn’t available as it looked like it would be wonderful. Hopefully next time.

This was our second time visiting.... a beautiful huge pool. Perfect to swim in every day. Views over park and ocean are perfect. Great place to go and relax. Could do with a coffee maker in room. Fridge available on request. Breakfast available at extra cost

We stayed for 9 days, and again for a week after a visit to Oaxaca. We loved it! Great location, large rooms, easy walk over to Santa Cruz and downtown. It's quiet, at least on weekday  nights. Weekends..it's Mexico! Isla beach club and a club out on the main street do have music going til the weekend hours, so close the windows and turn on the a.c.! Second floor rooms have a balcony, first floor rooms don't. Breakfasts were great! Pool and spa services were a great bonus.

Great boutique hotel and spa

Hotel was awesome..... comfortable bed. Beautiful views. Well worth the money we paid. Easy walking distance to the beach. (5) minutes. 10-15 minutes walk to the supermarket. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room but tequila works well for a breakfast drink. Breakfast available at the hotel.

Awesome place !

My husband and I visited Xquenda Spa for massages, and we had such a good experience that we cancelled our lodging reservations and stayed at Xquenda instead. We stayed six nights and had a wonderful experience. First of all, the grounds are beautiful and tranquil. There are a number of chairs and comfortable loungers to sit in and the landscaping is vibrant and calming. The lap pool appeared to be 25-meters long and was always available for use unless a class was being held in it.

We stayed in one of the rooms downstairs which featured a king-sized bed and two double-sized beds. The sink, shower, and toilet are separate which worked well for us. The room was full of rustic charm and was appointed with Mexican folkloric paintings of animals. The mini-fridge and thorough daily cleaning service were additional welcome touches. Since Xquenda Spa only has six rooms for lodging, it never feels overrun; on the contrary, our entire stay was imbued with tranquility and bliss.

While there is not a restaurant on the grounds, the onsite kitchen offers breakfast daily for 100 pesos per person. The cook prepared anything we wanted to order--scrambled eggs, bacon, huevos rancheros, omelets, etc. They also provided juice, coffee, and fresh fruit.

We also found the location to be very convenient. The spa is basically on Playa Chahue and is walking distance to Chedraui, the large supermarket. One can even walk to La Crucecita as we did on several occasions. On the other hand, a taxi to La Crucecita cost us 30 pesos and one to Playa La Entrega was 60 pesos.

Above all, though, what makes Xquenda Spa truly special is the staff. Barbara and Felipe were always welcoming, friendly, and full of knowledge. The cleaning ladies and kitchen staff were kind and understanding as well, and the massage staff is talented. I had one of the best massages + facials while I was there. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Xquenda Spa!

Charming Owners!

We found our stay here to be very relaxing. The tennis courts were great for morning exercise, and the swimming pool was nice to cool off in. The room was very unique and also very comfortable. We very much enjoyed the balcony to listen to and watch the birds each morning and late afternoon. Location was nice--about a 15 min walk to restaurants in another bay or about a 20 min walk to centro for restaurants and shopping.

Quiet and relaxing

We absolutely loved this Hotel. We like boutique spots and this is definitely that, full of charm and completely unique to anywhere else I've been. The owners and staff are fantastic, truly nice people, cannot say enough good things about them. The location is great with ocean views and only steps to award winning Chahue beach. Can easily walk for groceries, to Santa Cruz and La Crucecita. If I had to say a couple things that could be improved, would be nice to have some softer bedding and better pillows after a long hard day of swimming and chilling on the beach. Also, it is advertised as a fitness facility, but all of the workout equipment is in disrepair, so would be nice to see that improved. Overall this is really an amazing place and I will definitely be back. If you like boutique, this is the spot.

Perfect Boutique Hotel.

I stayed at Xquenda over the weekend and found it an absolutely wonderful experience. Everything in this town seemed to be within walking distance.The hotel is located yards away from the beach and its numerous club houses. When the sun goes down, there is also a lively bar and a dance club nearby. I like walking down open avenues and Huatulco certainly delivered as the center (Crucecita) was only 20-25 min from the hotel along a nicely shaded and verdant median in the road. However, the staff at Xquenda were always ready to have a taxi at hand (1-2 min away) if that's what you desired. The room's view overlooks a courtyard with the beach just beyond that. The room itself was very comfortable and roomy. The theme seemed to be stone and dark wood in and outside of the room, which only added to the relaxed feel. I couldn't be happier with my stay. All around great hotel

My partner and I unfortunately got very sick from drinking water in Zipolite. We arrived in huatulco in scorching hot and humid weather and were so thankful for the tranquil and mellow vibe of the hotel. Barbara and Fidel were excellent hosts, so helpful and showed great empathy towards us. They gave us names of drugs we should ask for at the local farmacia that would get rid of the parasite we caught. We were so sick that we basically stayed at the hotel and hardly stepped outside. The humidity was too much to bare. We were very grateful for the large comfortable king sized bed, the ceiling fan, air conditioning and exquisite bathrooms. To be able to take a hot shower, and sit on a toilet instead of squatting like we were doing the week before was a god send. The spa rooms were beautiful! The pool was immaculate and crystal clear. There is a tennis court and a gym. Both in great shape. Some of the other rooms were vacant and we were able to take a peek inside... Magnificent! With all of the all-inclusive hotel chains and the other hotels competiting and clamoring for your business, Xquenda Huatulco Spa is the place to be!
