walked on top of the hill in san agustinillo and what a nice surprise,great breakfast,awesome coffee and great presentation all for a 100 pesos....The view is astonishing and beautiful,you can even borrow binoculars from the desk and look at the whales and dolphin jump far away in the distance....Totally recommend this place...

This hotel and shall is the place to calm your mind and reborn as a different improved person. 
Is a simple, quiet and rustic place, however, the wilderness around it, the sounds, the ocean, and most of all the yoga lessons with my dear teacher Brigitte Longueville will change you.
The hotel is very simple, with a rustic touch and the rooms are very clean and neat, but no air conditioner. (remember! no luxuries). Has a small pool,with a great view to the bay. 
It only has one restaurant, also with a view to the bay, and Nati the cook prepares vegetarian food,  that is absolutely delicious and fresh. 
Finally, the yoga lessons with Brigitte is an life changing experience, totally amazing lessons don't miss it!
If you want a different experience, away from big resorts, to calm your mind, refresh your body and reboot your system, this is the place to go

Tres Marias is a fantastic place to stay.  We just spent a week here, and can not say enough good things.  The rooms are lovely -- not just clean  but very nicely done with comfortable beds and great hammocks in each room.  There is a lovely swimming pool overlooking the ocean, which is great way to chill out after a day at the beach. Being up the hill gives Tres Marias a great view and a nice evening breeze.  It is truly only a five minute walk, equivalent of roughly two city blocks, down to the beach. There were a number of families staying, which gave the place an easy, pleasant feel.  

The restaurant at the hotel is quite good.  The staff are incredibly accommodating and kind.  San Agustinillo itself is one of the most beautiful beach towns I have ever spent time in, with an incredibly warm ocean, lots of good food and great waves.  We were originally going to stay in Mazunte, but after the first night realized that San Agustinillo is a much better scene for families.  

Overall we loved Tres Marias, it made our trip to this gorgeous town that much more fantastic.

Yoga Retreat to calm your mind and spirit

Fantastic Place

We stayed 4 nights and were happy enough. Was great to have the pool with our young kids. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Yiunpay quite a lot for a quite basic room - small doubles - and have to pay extra for a/c which bumps the price up. Breakfast is extra too, but nice. The view is lovely and the walk up the hill isn't difficult at all. You're less than 5 mins walk away from the beach and main road. Ok base

Pricey but you get a view & pool!

I stayed here for a yoga retreat (Solstice Yoga, which operates at this location providing not only retreats but daily lessons for anyone in the area - great yoga space, and great teachers) and then opted to stay on for a few days afterwards.  The best thing about this place is the communal dining area next to the pool, which has the most beautiful view of San Agustinillo's beaches (and a wonderful and welcome breeze!) and fantastic cooks providing delicious healthy meals at good prices.  The rooms are all different and fairly basic. On the positive side, mine had a comfortable large bed, a good mosquito net, and a safe; on the negative side the ceiling fan was ineffectual, weak shower (cold water as everywhere else in this area), and no door between bathroom and bedroom area (not a problem when solo, but might be if sharing!). Location is up a short but steep path off the main road, so bring a flashlight for walking to/from at night time.  My main issue with this place was the price I was asked to pay for my extra nights' stay beyond my retreat - 900 mexican pesos per night for room only...I don't know if this is what they usually charge but, if so, it is massively overpriced. I chose to pay it for ease, I couldn't be bothered to move somewhere else for just two nights. But I have since been able to compare it to many other places I've seen and stayed in along that coast in San Agustinillo, Zipolite, and Huatulco.... In Zipolite you can stay directly on the beach in an equivalent room for 500 pesos; in Huatulco you can get a room with air conditioning and tv for 650!
