Casa Malitsin

I recently stayed with some family. The rooms were great with great air conditioning and just in overall great shape. I was happy at the speed of the great wifi.
I personally loved the location as someone who loves to walk, so I had no problem with walking down and up hill ten minutes every day. 
The owner Martin was very gracious and kind, giving us a tour our first day which helped us get to know the area. He made sure to let us know he's available if we need help with anything. Overall, will definitely come back!  :)

The hotel is cozy, nearby the center of the city, friendly environment, excelent attention. Breakfast is delicious, it's not fancy but it shows the best from Mexico. You can always count on Mr. Martin for any reccomandations on activities. Be prepared to climb stairs! Gto. is all about stairs.

Two of us American gals were traveling together and Casa Malatsin was a gem of a place to stay.  We each had our own charming bedroom with a more than adequate shared bath.  When we first arrived, the owner, Martin, gave us a personal tour down the hillside to the main square to help us find our way.  After that we were fine and enjoyed every morning walking down and the evening returns.  There are charming houses and little shops along the way, with vendors selling tamales, flowers, etc.  We felt like part of the community and safe everywhere we went with the usual precautions.  
We had many valued conversations with Martin and he went out of his way to assist us and make us feel at home.  All of his tips and recommendations were "spot on."  We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Casa Malitsin for three nights in late July 2015 and loved it! The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Up to date and modern and fast wi-fi service, which allowed me to upload my pics of the beautiful city without having to rack up those roaming charges. 

The only thing that kept this from being a 5-star review is the location. While it is just a 10-minute walk from the city center, it's a 10-minute walk straight down. The hills in Guanajuato are like none over I've ever seen (including San Francisco) and after a long day of walking through the city walking back up to the hotel was a bit daunting.  My wife's cousin is in a wheelchair so when we were with her we would just take a taxi back to the hotel.

HOWEVER ... the owner, Martin, bent over backwards to make sure we were well take care of, including driving us into the city in his own truck every morning. 

A breakfast is also included ... it's at a small diner called La Terraza.  Small selection for the meals but they are all freshly made and delicious.

We stayed here at the beginning, and again at the end of our Habitat for Humanity build to Mineral de Pozos.  Guanajuato is a fantastic city--feels like it could be in .  Europe.  Felt very safe here.  Casa Malitsin is maybe a 10 minute walk from the town centre.  Lovely walk  through the narrow streets.  Martin was so very helpful with our queries.  VERY CLEAN and comfortable.  Lovely breakfast and free wi-fi.  Would definitely stay here again
