Hotel San Joaquin SA de CV

This hotel, located on Camino Real just 10 min. from Centro, is highly underrated by those who have reviewed it. When you enter the lobby you will see that it is spotless. The one thing you must do is make sure that things work in your room as some rooms have broken air conditioning or hot water does not run. Tell the management and they will move you. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Yes, the beds are firm, not HARD, mattresses are deep, not the thin kind you often find in a Mexican hotel. Our air conditioning quickly cooled the room and it was totally clean and wonderful after a bad experience at the beach the day before. It is basic furnishings, we did not use the TV so no review of that. We did go down to the pool, very clean, relaxing n lovely furniture under a palm tree, quiet and perfect for an afternoon rest. Ate breakfast in their restaurant and it was fine. Order the omelet or small fruit plate, yogurt or scrambled eggs and ham. All were just fine. No noise at night so that was great. Best restaurant in Colima is just a km away and around the corner--Corazon Contente although the management of the hotel did not know of it??? They came and picked all 8 of us up at the hotel and drove us to their restaurant!!! Give this alternative to centro hotels a try and save some $$$$ We were mostly all pleased, although one couple had a broken air conditioner (they did not try it in the afternoon so by the time they found out it was late at night).
