Hostal Pata De Perro

A very nice hostel as a starting point for the activities in the area, and in the city centre. The staff was friendly and it's clean. The breakfast was sufficient for the active days. 
 I enjoyed my stay here. 

I stayed at the hostel as part of a tour package with huasteca.com. My room was very clean and spacious, the air conditioner worked very well. The bathrooms were also always very clean. Breakfast was delicious. The hostel is close to restarunts and supermarkets. Marta who works at the hostel made me feel very welcome and was extremely helpful. 

I stayed at single room for 4 days. Well-funtioning  air condition, clean room condition, hot water and located in centro. Staffs are very kind and happy to help me. This hostal is owned by tour agency, so it is very easy to book a tour program. 

The rooms are big enough with A/C if needed. The included breakfast is very good with fresh juice, cofee and some main dish that can vary each day (scrambled eggs and toast or quesadillas).
The hostel is very clean. They have enough showers and several toilets.
Maybe the beds are not super confy, but fair enough for the price. The staff in general is very nice and helpful, but sometimes they may not know all the places or tips around the town, but that's okay, since it is a small town. Also, on my first night I was not told about the wifi and other amenities of the hostel, which I would expect to be informed without having to ask explicitly.
Special thanks to Sol, the girl in the morning. She is super helpful and nice. And she seems to know very well all the places around the city.


I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was so friendly, the rooms and bathrooms were soo clean and the breakfast was nice. There is no wifi in the rooms, but there is in the common areas. Would certainly gp back!

Nothing special as a hostel, an average one. 
Pros(good): 
- rooms look clean
- bathroom looks clean
- kitchen looks nice and clean
- price is okay

Cons (to be improved):
- no lockers, the dorms are equipped with old apartment furniture
- not enough electricity plugs neither in rooms or the terrace
- there is only one bathroom as far as I saw, might have been a second one, but anyway it's not enough if the hostel has the half of its capacity.
- the stuff looks not trained, confused, they can't tell what's around or how to get to a place, neither know prices of their own rooms. Luckily there was one bright girl in the morning, which was able to point me out. That was great after my few hours research previous evening.
