OYO Hotel Real Plaza Jacona

After reading the bad reviews of this hotel I will like to add some insight and a new perspective. As of May 2019, they have been improving this hotel with the new administration. Taking in consideration this hotel was a movie theater years ago, the layout of the hotel might seem a little odd. The hotel is very quiet, you have to turn on and off lights as you walk the hallways sometimes; however the room and bathroom were clean despite other reviews I’ve read and the staff will ensure your bedroom, a/c, etc is ok for you; in the case there is something bothering you about the room, they will gladly have it fix when you return from your activities or offer you another room from the same category. The staff are very amicable. If you arrive at Ciudad Valles without a tour planned, the staff will kindly provide you with a handful options of different tour companies depending on what you are looking for, and local tips and tricks. The restaurant is located Next to the reception area, they have a variety of international and Mexican dishes. *** must try their Enchiladas Potosinas and Gorditas (which differ from gorditas in other states, these ones are thinner, and gorditas from other states are called Bocoles in the Huasteca Potosina) It might look like you won’t be able to find parking in the street; however the hotel does have a parking lot on the back (crossing the street), ask for in at the reception. The location of the hotel is great, you are walking distance from convenience stores, drug stores and supermarkets. During the weekends, the city hosts a farmer’s market in the city center, just 2 blocks away from the hotel. I will highly recommend giving this hotel a try.
