Planet Hollywood Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

Wow what a place! My husband and I visited this hotel for our honeymoon 6th - 17th August and we absolutely loved it. Upon check in, we informed them that we were on our honeymoon and immediately upgraded us to Star Class. Although we didn't use many of the perks of Star Class, it was nice to have the option to drink the more premium alcohol and jump the queue in a couple of places. We stayed around the adults only pool every day. The pool was clean, fantastic location and the staff couldn't do enough for us. There were plenty of sunbeds but if you want a specific area/loungers then you'd need to get there for 6:30/6:45am but remain with your belongings until 7am. We booked a cabana one day with a group of friends that we had made - this experience was worth every penny; a bottle of tequila, plenty of drinks, 2 bottles of champagne and food was served to us. Mildred was amazing and couldn't have done enough for us all day - she by far, made our honeymoon. Thanks Mildred. The only downside of the adults only side, is that on a Friday and Saturday, the pool turned into Spring Break with many young Americans joining for the weekend. The pool area became loud and more of a party scene. Our advice would be to book a trip for a Saturday to avoid this but it certainly didn't spoil things. The food was exceptional. We ate at the buffet each morning for breakfast and then would either eat at the buffet, The Burger Joint or grab a sandwich from Fuel for lunch. Evening food was fantastic with plenty of choice. Our preferred A La Carte was the Steak house however, everywhere we ate, including the buffet, had plenty of choice. The drinks complimented every meal and the bar staff and waitress/waitresses were smiley and helpful. During the daytime, there seemed to be more activities going on at the family side of the hotel, however, still plenty to do on the adult side. We preferred to sit and chill so didn't venture to the family side at all. We joined in with some of the silent bingo and water polo etc. The evening entertainment was a little disappointing. It seemed to be more family orientated and some nights it was just music and the entertainment team dancing with the children and adults. My advice would be to have a children's show/entertainment early evening followed by an adult show later on. However, we still enjoyed watching The Michael Jackson show and chatting with people in the evenings and we thoroughly enjoyed the Karaoke in the Sports Bar. I wouldn't say the entertainment affected our stay at the resort. Fern and Nando (the entertainment team) couldn't have looked after us anymore if they tried. They were always so happy and went out of their way to sort things for us. We booked a trip to Isla Mujeres with Karen (Mamma Kezza) the TUI rep. This was a great trip on a catamaran. We absolutely loved every minute of it. We also booked Coco Bongos with TUI - wow! What a great show. Something that we have never seen before. We can't thank Karen enough for her knowledge and friendliness during our stay. She was always smiling and on hand to answer any questions that we had. She went out of her way on a couple of occasions to help us. Thank you Mamma Kezza. Lastly, my only recommendation for this hotel would be to look into having a shuttle bus to and from Cancun during the daytime. We would have loved to have visited Cancun during the day but we didn't want to chance an uber and taxis were expensive. By putting on a shuttle bus (charge guests of course), it would give guests peace of mind knowing that they could go into Cancun and back safely. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit. The staff are kind, helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and beautiful views. And lastly, the resort has plenty to offer for everyone. Thank you PH for making it a honeymoon of a lifetime.
