The small hotel with few apartments was in an abolutely fine location - just inside the old city and next to peacefull upper barrak gartens. Room with an OK interior - a bit old / outdated but fully functional. An issue was handled within hours - fine.
Bathroom fine and the large bed really good. Internet connection super.

Super Good Location and Very Clean Apartment

WE have been fortunate enough to have stayed at over 100 properties using Hotels.com over the last ten years. This is the first negative review we have submitted.The manager Cliff is unbelievably rude and incapable of holding a civil conversation! My wife accidentally broke a mirror in the bathroom mistakenly thinking it was a shaving cabinet with storage behind. I attempted to contact Cliff and on the fifth call he finally picked up and proceeded to advise that if the mirror wasn't paid for in full by 2pm the next day we would be evicted with no refund. He stated that he had received approval from Hotels.com for this course of action which was blatantly untrue.After stating that my wife must have been insane (yes insane) for assuming that a bathroom with no other storage could possibly have a shaving cabinet, he proceeded to rant and rave. It got to the point that I placed my phone on loud speaker so that the friends we were with could hear the tirade, at the end of which he hung up. They were dumb founded.A quick search on the manufacturers website showed that the mirror, which was connected to mains electricity, had been installed incorrectly. I'm sure that the new mirror which we did end up paying for has been installed to manufacturers specifications.There are hundreds of options for accommodation in the nearby area.There are also many fantastic management operations in the area that any owner should consider instead of this buffoon!

Don't stay here!!!

I questioned the owner on some aspects of the accommodation and was told that I was a very difficult guest. How rude and why make such a remark when quite clearly I wanted additional information as my wife has a very bad back. 

Unprofessional Owner

Pleasant stay in a nicely renovated Maltese house with a traditional balcony and in a perfect location. Very clean. Communication efficient but minimal.

Excellent location only down side was the balcony window was overlooked by the barraka garden walkway and if informed of this may have had second thoughtRoom was adequate for us and the bed was very very comfortable

Very good but

This is a mixed review. I had booked into Barrakka Suites but I needed to extend my stay in Malta and the Barrakka Suites was full on that date. Cliff kindly offered me a room in another facility he owned and this was good. The taxi met us at the airport (midnight as the flight had been delayed). This was very good. The following morning we had to navigate our way to the Barrakka Suites. No map, no instructions,  massive hill to climb with bags and jet lag. At the top, we asked anyone and everyone for directions. No-one could help.  45 minutes later, we were standing outside the Castile building and a young couple asked if we were looking for the Barrakka Suites - they had been equally lost when they arrived and recognized the dazed look on our faces. The room was pleasant, the bathroom was brand new. But, the next day the coffee pods were not replalced, the lights in the entryway and stairs were not working. It was pitch black even in the middle of the day, and a death trap. The following day the bed was not made, water not replaced.  On the final day, the keyless entry stopped working. Despite calls and messages over the days, there was no response.  But, the location was perfect, so the review is truly mixed.

We had booked a family break to Valletta in 2020 to celebrate my 70th birthday, but because of Covid we sadly had to cancel. In 2022, however, we were able to renew our plans. Barrakka suites looked good, so we booked and it turned out to be perfect. Fantastic location, close to the centre, excellent apartment, clean, well equipped and well organized. My contact with the owner Cliff went perfectly and he was able to resolve the small doubts that I had immediately. My wife and I would certainly be prepared to revisit this property on any future visit to Valletta.

Valletta visit

Booked through an agent and then kept receiving texts and emails asking for my card details. When I emailed the booking agent to check the validity, the owner became rude and called me 'difficult' for not wanting to give out my card details. Reading the other reviews, I can see his attitude is a common theme. What a shame.
