The hotel is in Villingile which is in 10-minutes boat journey from Male. 
Located in a residential area of a local island the hotel is a good place to stay on your stopover to other islands. 
Breakfast is continental and not very generous

Good place to stay away from the crowd of Male' in the nature's environment on a island with a 4 minute ferry available every 5 minute all the day. Can enjoy the natural beach and good variety of sports. Good internet connectivity. Food is ok.

This was a great find for us, a terrific combination of highly affordable plus hospitality and local culture!! After spending our first night in the Maldives in Huhumale we found this place entirely by chance: a fellow at the Villingili ferry terminal told us to take the ferryboat over. So we did. We walked around in the hot midday sun and visited three other properties before seeing the Villingili Inn and were immediately thrilled: the room was spacious, had two beds (one queen-size), nice air-con, decent fixtures, spotless modern bathroom, and a sitting room with large leather sofa outside in the hallway. The price is extremely reasonable for the Maldives. Sadly they only had availability for one night. We decided to stay three nights total in Villingili because of the warmth and hospitality we encountered on this island and at this property. Right nearby are nice dining options, including an excellent bakery run by a well-trained baker from Mumbai featuring delicious cakes, croissants and mini-pizzas. You'll also find good local cuisine (try the kotu roshi) at 8Tea8 with an open-air second story dining room, at the second-story dining room of Gooseberry, and at McRooster. The property includes a modest buffet breakfast.

Rather than taking long ferry rides of several hours to outlying islands, we instead decided Villingili would be just fine for a few days. There are almost no tourists here, and yet it is just ten minutes by ferry from Malé. Meaning you can head over there anytime of night or day for additional dining or entertainment options. There are watersports options, and a nice dive shop (The Dive Lodge, separate review) with a kindhearted owner and excellent staff. Only electric vehicles are allowed on Villingili so it is relatively tranquil. A nice white sand beach is adjacent to the ferry terminal. You can walk the entire island in 20 minutes. That said Villingili faces the same issue many other rapidly-developing small islands face, and you'll see trash strewn here and there as well as a few half-finished construction sites. It is not a tropical paradise but rather reflects the complex reality of today's small islands. We found it a magnificent respite for several days, a great way to soak up local Maldivian culture. If you are looking to meet natives (we even got invited to a local home for a delicious fish soup lunch!) this might just be the place for you. And if you want perfection then go spend ten times as much at some artificial resort!

Awesome relaxing place in quiet Villingili

good place to stay near Male

Comfortable and friendly stay

Two ferries are needed to transport from Male airport to the island where this Guest House is located.  I cant fault the staff who were extremely helpful in picking us up and the price was cheap for a clean room.  There is nothing of interest on Vilingili island where it is located however and personally, for an overnight stay before flying, I would rather stay on Hulhumale which can be reached across a causeway from the airport.

Cheap & clean but poor location

Located on the island of Vilingili it's a 5 minute boat journey from Malé's vilingili ferry terminal and then another 5 mins walk. 
The island is cheaper and way more relaxed than Malé, however there is not a great deal to do on this island.
The shower had no hot water which wasn't ideal. There was a lack of bedside sockets. Other than that the room was average for this range of accommodation. 
The breakfast was truly horrendous.
It's not awful if all you need is a night near to Malé, but wouldn't stay any longer than one night.
