Sukau Greenview Bed and Breakfast

Stayed there for the boat trips and had a great experience. Place is clean, smells fresh, well looked after, food is nice and staff very friendly and helpful. Boat trips were great, we have seen the big 5 of Borneo including elephants and crocodile! and our guide was so funny and knowledgeable (seen a pregnant organgutan called Patricia). Receptionists in Greenview went an extra mile for us when going to Semporna and back this is the best place to stay in Sukau!

We’ve just returned from this excursion so I really wanted to write an honest review on our experiences there. Honestly if I could give it more stars I would, what an incredible experience from start to finish. Everything was so well planned and regimental it took all the stress away from planning it yourself. 
We got picked up from our hotel in Sandakan and was roughly a two hour drive to the b+b. The van was comfortable, well air conditioned and stopped half way for a toilet break. 
On arrival we was given a briefing on the next few days and keys to our accommodation. I booked a deluxe room and it was well worth the little bit extra. The beds were super comfy and clean, two pillows each and a good quality. The aircon unit in the room was strong and worked well, and the bathroom spotlessly clean and a good size. 
We had a total of 6 tours. On arrival we was given 10 minutes to drop our bags off and the first adventure begun with a sunset boat cruise for 2 hours, once back we had dinner and was out for the night boat cruise. We saw the 4 out of the top 5 in the first half an hour it was incredible. The next day was an early start but well worth it for the sunrise boat tour then back for breakfast and time to change into suitable clothing for the morning jungle walk. After that we was served lunch and had a few hours downtime before heading out for the sunset boat cruise, then dinner the the evening jungle walk around the area. We saw far too many amazing animals to list, but every tour had something different and beautiful. 
If you’re debating on what tour to book I seriously wouldn’t look any further- everything you want and more is here. 
The staff all work so hard and all so lovely, the food was delicious, the tea and coffee was accessible for free 24-7 and the wifi strong. 
I would like to give a particular praise to our guide for the 3 days to Azizie- When I tell you that if he didn’t know it, it wasn’t worth knowing!!! This young lad seriously SERIOUSLY knew his stuff. Every question asked, big or small he knew the answer to and in so much detail I was in awe. He was always polite, always accommodating and is a huge credit to you guys. 
He is a credit to the company, he parents and the Malaysian people in general who are so lovely, polite and just all round nicest people I’ve met on the Asian travels so far.

We had a truly amazing 2-night, 3-day stay at Sukau Greenview Bed & Breakfast. From the start, communication for pick-up and drop-off was seamless and very well organized. Our room was clean, spacious, and the lodge itself was in a fantastic location right on the river.

The food was good, and we were thrilled with how many animals we got to see, though we were a little disappointed to miss the elephants. However, the highlight of our stay was definitely the staff—absolutely amazing, super nice, and very personal in their approach. They really made our stay memorable.

All the tours offered were relevant and well-executed. We were sad we couldn’t join the optional tour on the last day, as it was already fully booked. In the future, maybe a better booking system for the tours would help.

One small suggestion: the system for selling ice creams could be improved. After 8 pm, they were no longer available, and it required calling the staff to open up. It would have been really nice to enjoy ice cream after the night tour, but unfortunately, this wasn’t possible.

Everything was super organized, and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

We booked the 3D2N excursion with the deluxe air-conditioned room and it was a great choice. The food is not very good, but acceptable. The B&B accepts cards. the people are very kind, our guide Jack Washington fantastic! We saw lots of proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, even an orangutan (even if behind the tree) and elephants! The tour we liked least was the daytime walking in the jungle, there are no animals but only vegetation.
We recommend this tour and book directly with them!

Great place to spend a couple of days doing boat safaris. We saw elephants, orangutans, Proboscis Monkeys. The staff is super nice, the rooms clean and spacious and the food delicious. Would highly recommend staying at Sukau and doing the safaris with them. We skipped the walks as we are not so interested in insects and the walks were hard.  We did take a private elephant safari as we wanted to ensure we saw elephants but the regular tour was able to watched them as well

I don’t know where to start, but my partner and I had the most incredible three days at Deramakot and were left in awe. We were drawn to it at the possibility of spotting an elusive clouded leopard; but soon learned the experience was so much more than that. Having researched many different agents we decided to go with Sukau Greenview Lodges as we were already booked on a 3D2N river cruise with them, and they provided the best value for money we could find. We paid 2,500 MYR per pax for 3D2N at the Forest including all meals and our guided safaris. We had no regrets! Luckily we ended up with a private tour as no other guests had booked on, and we were picked up by our guide Hamit Suban. Hamit lived in Malaysian Borneo all of his life and had so much knowledge about the area, very kindly answering our many questions! His ability to spot wildlife with the smallest light flicker, movement or change of smell was astonishing. We were blown away by his skills and passion for the job, and learnt so much. The food at the reserve is to a very good standard and they cater to all tastes/cuisines. Although it states basic accommodation we were very pleasantly surprised by the chalets, they were clean and comfy, exactly all you need after hours out on safari. The guides have binoculars but we also rented a pair for 50,000 MYR which was totally worth it. We bought leech socks at the market in sandakan prior and recommend you have good shoes/rain jacket (ideally body length), as although the walking is generally minimal and optional, the long hours on safari can some with a change in weather. We saw a family of 5 gibbons pretty close, many flying squirrels, a slow loris who climbed right down close to us, giant squirrels, about 6 Malaysian civets which are gorgeous, 4 leopard cats, orang-utans (a mother with a one month baby and juvenile preparing a nest, unreal!), many eagles, pheasant, small otters, porcupine and other small mammals and birds. Lastly, we were lucky enough to spot two baby marbled cats which was surreal. Each sighting is thrilling no matter what you are seeing, and we didn’t anticipate the small things to bring so much joy. We went with no expectations as you can’t plan nature, but it’s truly an unmissable experience. From dinner in the depths of the jungle, stunning sunrise and sunset over the canopies and being in touch with the simplicity and beauty of being hours from anywhere - it has a piece of our heart! Thanks to Hamit for an unforgettable time at Deramakot, we cannot recommend your services enough! 

We booked the 3D2N Sepilok and Kinabatangan tour with Sukau Greenview, and it was the best part of our two week holiday in Malaysia and Singapore! The accommodation was comfortable (we stayed in a 'Superior' room) and spacious, and less 'basic' than I expected. We had a couple of large bugs come in under the door but that added to the fun of it! We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the orangutans and sunbears at the rehabilitation centres in Sepilok, but the river cruises on the Kinabatangan river were the best. Over the course of two afternoon cruises, one early morning cruise and two night cruises (we paid a little extra to get an additional night cruise) we saw multiple species of hornbills, a baby crocodile, short and long-tailed macaques, proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, an owl, civets, eagles and a bunch of other birds I can't recall the names of. We also did a one hour jungle trek which was very interesting. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and eagle-eyed - their ability to spot wildlife is amazing! Our tour guides Haiman and Shahri were excellent and really added to our experience. 

The food was simple and enjoyable, they were able to offer a good vegetarian option for me each meal. If you are going to Sabah I highly recommend doing some kind of guided cruise on the Kinabatangan river.

We're just back  having spent 4 wonderful nights in Greenview. The accommodation was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Great Aircon and shower. The food was lovely but the star of the show was the  amazing river trips with Fahan and Rex.   We saw Orangutans, crocs lots of monkeys,  hornbills,  kingfishers and lots more. the guides are eagle eyed and can spot a croc or a tiny bird at a great distance.   We had a great time here.  Lovely staff.  Thank you all .

From start to finish we had a great time at Sukau Greenview. They were very easy to chat to and arranged transport for us from Sepilok on the way there and to Sandakan Airport on the way back. We had two amazing guides Suki, Farhan who were incredibly knowledgeable about the local fauna and flora. We saw Proboscis monkeys, Long-tailed macaques, short-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, many species of hornbills and kingfishers, a large crocodile and the crown jewel was two sitings of wild orangutans - very special. The food was healthy and delicious and timetables were well organised. The room was clean, and cool with good AC and the shower was also great. Would recommend Greenview to anyone visiting the area.

We had a lovely 1 night, 2 day package tour with Greenview. Emilin was so helpful and responsive with contacting us before our stay and personalising our package.  Our lovely driver Rosman greeted us from Sandakan airport and made us feel very welcome, guiding us around the amazing Semilok Orangutan Rehab centre.
 
The rooms were air conned, spacious and clean and the location along the kinabatangan river was beautiful. The food was fresh and home cooked and catered for my extensive food allergies which was fantastic. Farhan was so informative and passionate (so much so I fell in love with the iconic hornbill bird) on the morning, afternoon and night cruises which made our experience even more magical. Thank you for a lovely stay.
