The lodges can only be accessed by boat and considering their remoteness, we thought they were perfectly good, clean and with all you need, apart from the sloping bath shelf! A plug in mosquito repellent was available so we didn’t need the mosquito net we had brought with us. The food was good and the staff very welcoming. There are some alcohol drinks available. No wifi but a better phone signal than I have at home in the UK. The surroundings are amazing. We went for a short guided walk, following in the footsteps of pygmy elephants which we sadly did not see, but we did see a mother and baby orangutan, even though it wasn’t the fruiting season. The boat trips were superb, with excellent sightings of birds, proboscis monkey etc, and beautiful scenery. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I would prefer to stay here rather than the (probably more luxurious) lodges on the other side of the river which can be accessed by road.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a longer trip . We arrived by boat , which in itself was exciting ! The guide came on another boat with the cases . The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable. The food was good and plentiful and they went out of their way to cater for my gluten free needs . The staff were delightfully helpful and very cheerful . Some rooms had fridges , we were lucky, the air conditioning was very efficient . The boat trips were amazing for viewing the proboscis monkeys and macaques. We were also lucky enough to see a young male orang utan swinging through the lodges trees in the early morning as well as many monkeys after the fruit in the trees round the grounds. The insects were plentiful as would be expected so close to the river so Deet is necessary … there are no mosquito nets but we didn’t find any bugs in our room. There is no WiFi so real isolation for a couple of days ! It was a great experience . 

We stayed two nights as part of a tour of Sabah.

The room we were allocated initially had a very noisy air con but over lunch they had prepared another suite which was fine.

The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the occasional rain showers.

The dining room is open sided giving an unobstructed view of the jungle.

On an early morning walk we spotted a wild Orang Utan in the trees.

Some lodges had fridges and some didn’t. There is a water cooler in the restaurant.

The boat trips were superb.

We have read some complaints about the lodges but it is two star, is recovering from the pandemic and we had a great stay.

What an incredible place.
After catching a boat to the lodges, there are not roads, a warm welcome was waiting.
My lodge was clean and comfortable I had no complaints, you have to remember it’s only 2 star but the bed was comfortable the shower worked and there was air conditioning.
The bar is limited but again everything has to come in by boat, the food was delicious and plentiful.
I stayed as part of a Titan tour and no one had any complaints.
I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in cabin 3. The lodge is a magical place to see many of the native flora and fauna of Borneo. This lodge is an off-the-grid eco lodge experience with all the comforts of home. A/C, comfortable beds, hot showers, even wifi. That said, it's off the grid so the amenities are not available 24x7. That is the case with all eco lodges that are located in the middle of the wilderness. That said, the staff did a lovely job making us incredibly comfortable with food, drinks, beer and tea/coffee. We did river cruises and jungle walks and were treated to incredible sightings of hornbills, monitors, eagles, kites, proboscis monkeys, macaques, and more. The river is beautiful, cool and relatively quiet (at least the time of year we were there which was late January 2020).

Access to this lodge is via the river .
This lodge is a tad under kept and is presently undergoing refurbishment but apart from that my room was spacious and overlooked the river 
Meals are in the main lodge and are plentiful, the staff are always pleasant,courteous and always with a  smile 
My one complaint would be the bathroom as there is no barrier to stop the water from the shower covering the total floor space so dangerous
No tea making facilities in the room either, but one can walk to main lodge to obtain such the other annoying factor was no shoes in the main lodge so take socks to place on feet for protection
The rooms are air conditioned but facilities are antiquated my room didnt produce hot water but as so humid it didnt matter One must remember to turn everything on and power is conserved and turned off completely 4 - 6pm and 9 - 11 am
If lucky you may be awaken in the morning by the monkeys making their way across the roofs and lawn of the lodge and maybe an orangutan 
Bottle water is complementary and after fist day you can refil at filling station in main lodge
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lodge and I would recommend even with the shortcomings

We had a fantastic stay in this lodge.
The essential room are very spacious with a lovely river view.
It is immersed in the forest..you will love the kiss of nature, we had the chance to see in the resort monkeys, long tale squirrel and Flying squirrels.
The staff are very friendly and thoughtful (the boat captain is great... He is able to spot everything to see in the jungle).
The food is soo good and tasty and with a decent variety. 

The Most fantastic Palace to relax on there you can match the biggest river in Sabah, Borneo. The men ,Frendy ,who follow us in the boattrip, has "Eagle eyas". He saw and show us so many different kind of animals. Even in the dark be found animals to show us. Asma is a lovely person who do your visited perfect when you are at the lodge. Most of lodge have the view over the river. We were living with the pygmé elephants just besides our lodge this time ❤

Stayed here on a tour of Borneo. Pergect accommodation for exploring wildlife on the river. Comfortable beds, well presented  rooms and very good food. Staff eere vert attentive and friendly. Highly recommend if doing river cruises or just wanting peace and quiet.

We, family of 4, stayed at this amazing place, for the second time. One of the oldest and most unique lodges at the kinabatangan river. We stayed at chalet number 7, the family chalet. 
Remember, you are in the jungle, away from society. Power is from a generator. Staff is very hardworking and friendly. Rooms are clean, again remember, it is the jungle, so you might encounter some small creatures. 
Beds are hard, but clean. Aircon is cold. 
All the food we had was very tasty and especially the second night with very little other guests was amazing. 
The whole day was amazing, especially because we had an orangutang on the premesis of the probocis lodge and we stood there all alone with this amazing animal just meters above our heads. 
We booked through holdaygogogo, who privided us with a guide and private boat tours.

BACK TO NATURE STAY ON THE KINABATANGAN RIVER

We were travelling in the quiet time of the year, so there were only 8 people at the resort while we were there. While everything was clean, neat and functional it looks like the place is needing an upgrade.
There is no powerline to the resort, so it runs off generators. This meant that for a few hours each day there was no power.  Not an issue, since we were relaxing on the verandah but could be when the resort is full.
The staff were friendly and the tours run out of the resort along the river were brilliant.
We would be quite happy to stay here again.
