Nestled within the Kinabalu Park, this establishment is a gem. 

The room was clean, nicely furnished and spacious; although the furnitures are slightly dated. Water pressure is a bit low but this is expected knowing its location. 

Breakfast spread was again reasonable. Staffs were professional and courteous.

Highly recommended.

Nature’s paradise

We cannot possibly recommend this wonderful place warmly enough. We had the misfortune to get lost in the national park on a walk that was not as well marked as we expected. After trying to ring the national park office 8 times without success, we rang the lodge who assisted us. As darkness fell and we were unable to get back onthe path, the lodge contacted rangers who implemented a search and rescue operation. The hotel manager Sue was waiting to greet us when we finally reached the van after midnight, and she personally took us to our room. She had also arranged food as the restaurant was long since closed. A special thank you to Ryan for his kindness and help.
The lodge, setting and food are amazing but the amazing staff are the real highlight.

Incredible kindness and caring

Very convenient location if climbing mount K. Restaurant was very good, decent range of food/wines etc. Rooms (we stayed at Nepenthes Suite) was clean and spacious with a lovely clean double bed.  One downside was the wifi ...very poor (aka non-existent!).

Great Location on edge of Mount Kinabalu Park

Location was inside the park so good for walking / exploring. Rooms / lodges were dated and could do with updating. We were very disappointed with the noise from a wedding going on in the park - the music was playing from 10.30am until nighttime. We had come to experience the nature and peace and quiet so this was a real disappointment. We feel that we should have either been told before our stay or there should have been quieter music so guests can experience the nature.

Not value for money.

This hotel consists of a central block with bar/ dining room/ terrace, with several smaller houses/ blocks set throughout the extensive grounds. The terrain is extremely hilly and you need to catch a little minibus to & from your room. My room was large but quite old-fashioned in its fixtures and fittings. You had to turn the heater on 30 minutes before you wanted a hot shower.  Too few power outlets. WiFi worked occasionally, but mostly not.  Food in Dining Room, including breakfast buffet, was very good quality, although the selections were quite limited.  Walks and trails within the grounds.

They have shuttle to pick up from lobby to your room. Breakfast buffet was great!

Great place to stay at, within Mt Kinabalu Park. Excellent services and friendly staff. Great place to stay at if you like trekking. Good food and a nice fireplace to keep warm during cold evenings.

Great place to stay

The staff at the reception and Liwagu restaurant is attentive and courteous. KKNP is a great place to experience nature walks. The paved roads are maintained and clean. However the room & furniture is aged and requires maintenance. While the air quality in the open is refreshing and cooling, the room is stuffy. A fan to circulate the spacious room would help. The property certainly needs upgrading.

Lovely place to visit and relax. The bathrooms of the hill lodges require refurbishment they are outdated and had bad smell.
