Just being impartial.

The Good...
-very cheap stay ($50-$60 myr/night)
-the air-con works
-the wifi works
-the water heater works
-centrally located to food options and attractions + supermarket is just next door

The Bad...
-stains on blanket and walls
-constant damp smell from the toilet
-creaky old bed mattress 

slightly challenging to stay in but works if your budget is tight and staying for just a few days.

Please DO NOT get the room with window. 
Its very noisy due to constant traffic noise. 
The curtains are not light-blocking.
And there are gaps in the windows-which allows mosquitoes to enter the room.

cheap budget option

Lovely hotel in the new golden triangle of Kuching. Nicely decorated with local handicraft. Unique to my eyes. Staff is very accomodating, will show you how the hotel works from checkin until checkout. Small kitchen to make a cuppa tea or instant noodle by the rooftop. Suprising a little corner of play area for kids too. Price wise, will not hurt your wallet even for a long stay. 

Good location to explore Kuching on foot

Friends stay here for 2 nights. Is a simple and very convenient place to stay. Go to water front, China Town Street, buy some popular cookies, food is very convenient to have it nearby. Very budget hotel. Toilet very clean. Just for resting is good enough.



Short stay 

Modest hotel, but correct and lovely.  Very friendly and nice staff.  A correct value for money.  I would repeat, no doubt.
They offer to you a mand-wrote book with others guests experiencies in the city, as a travel guide :-)

Nice place & charming

Small room with no windows and a microscopic bathroom, you have to be pretty happy with the fact that it's central and well-served, the price is low, and the girls at the reception are available.

That's enough.

Great staff.
Free bottled water.
Everrise (supermarket) is just next door.
7E is right in front of the block, easy to cross the road to go there.
Only a 5 - 8 mins walk to Topspot.
Comfy bed. We got a room w/out a window so it was a slight downside (for us).
Other than that, all is okay.

Place of Stay

Location right smack in the middle of the town opposite one of the famous cat statue along Jalan Padungan. My room is a bit noise as it is facing the main street. But it have the lovely view of the cat statue. You can opt for an interior room or the room facing the back I guest if you are a light sleeper. Lotsa eateries. Famous Kolo Mee at the end of the street, DP Gula Apong Ice Cream just opposite the hotel. 24 Hours self service laundry and 7E just a stone throw away. I could see it from my room. Haha for me, its a total value for money. I paid RM50 for a double room with private bathroom and air conditioned. Free bottled water daily is a plus plus. The staff were super friendly especially Evina. The common area must be the highlight of my stay as it compiles all the info needed to explore Kuching and where guest leave their hand prints and note. Overall I would stay again if I ever be in Kuching.

Best budget choice

The room was not comfortable.
The room is in desperate need of a fresh paint and a reconstruction.
No WiFi.
Very steep stairs.
The reception us open from 8am until 12 pm. But often was not occupied.
Bring a strong insect repellent. A lot of mosquitos in the room.
Located in a business area but far from a backpacker scene.

Not so good hotel

Nothing more to add other than to warn that the front room is noisy due to traffic.
Good value budget accommodation. Away from the backpackers scene but more local eaterie options.
But everything is walking distance

Clean, friendly and great location

If you want a clean, cheap but good location place to stay, this is IT!  There is a Lot of food within walking distance and to the waterfront too.  So if you don’t mind a small room, small bath/toilet and some without window, just a place to sleep in a good location with a Budget rate, why not?.  The AC is working fine and mattress is good.
