After a horrible experience in Phuket, we were hoping for a nice, easy stay at the Berjaya before returning to Thailand. This wasn't the case.
Upon our late-night arrival, while checking in, a man without a shirt, a vest, and lots of jewelry--think bachelorette party stripper style--was hanging around in the lobby, chatting with the workers. Not sure if this guy is a regular, though for a family-friendly hotel, I felt a little skeptical. Definitely weird, and some of the front desk folk seemed like they were trying to distract us from him.
Our room was large, though oddly furnished. Terrible, terrible internet. If you need to work online while here, good luck! The chemicals used to clean the room during the day were so strong, and lasted for the rest of our stay. Such a headache.
The hotel is in a mall, which one might think would be convenient. HOWEVER, the mall was huge and completely empty, full of weird, no-name stores. I liken it to the nondescript stores in the Mall Madness game of the early 90s. There is a theme park, but honestly, it looked creepy as did everything else--empty, no one riding rides. The hotel gave free passes, but not even that is an incentive, 
Breakfast was a bit weird--standard buffet fare, but with hovering staff, quick to clear plates, often reaching over us to get them. Felt a bit evasive. 
The only thing nice enough about this hotel was the pool area. But I'm sure there are nice pools all over KL, for a much better price!

5-star?!?!? Nope.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel if you base on the service of the front desk. It took more than 30 minutes for them to check us in. We arrived 3:30pm, rooms are not ready. Checked us in after 4pm and told us to come back after an hour for the room. We had a 100 RM F&B and it took her a long time to verify despite having a confirmation that it was already noted on their system. She had to bring my phone inside an office. 
We got an upgrade but we have to wait because we requested connecting rooms and was told no rooms were available on the kind of rooms we paid for. But the rooms that we're given to us were not connecting, it was not even beside each other. One room on the hallway, one room on the corner. 
The premier rooms were huge. Had a walk in closet, separate shower and bath, and a toilet. 
Rooms were a bit dated. The bed had an old smell. 
Lots of food selection on breakfast but the person making the noodles is always not around. Great service at the restaurant.
Checkout was fast but was charged for the food and drinks we ordered even though we have food credit on our account. So definitely have to check your bill.
The hotel is beside the Berjaya Times Square Mall and indoor Theme Park. Great location. 
Only 2 free water bottles per room even if we had extra bed for another person.
They also offered free handyphone that you can use.
Concierge Jimmy was very helpful.


Poor Front Desk

I've just stayed here for my 6th time. I didn't get time to email in advance about returning here, even though the Manager suggested I do email after reading my tripadvisor review for this hotel so that the staff can look after me.( I hope that makes sense). Well the check-in clerk was brilliant and acknowledged how often I've been staying here recently. He had a smoking room for me ready to go however I've quite smoking so he went out of his way to get me a non smoking level even though I'm sure I could have managed being on a smoking floor. My room 4112 was fantastic. The service from all staff seems to get better and better...quality training is obvious! I'm really looking forward to my stay here for 5 days at the end of August. Well done to all at BTSH.

I keep coming back

We stayed for a couple of nights. WiFi was a bit questionable but the service provided by your front desk sharmilla was exceptional. She helped us with practically everything n somewhat briefed us on places to look out for around the Kl vicinity. The bukit bintang area was great. View from the room was great us getting almost the entire skyline of kuala Lumpur . Will return back soon. Good job to sharmilla especially.

If you are taking the coach from Singapore to Malaysia, you will be dropped right in front of the hotel. That's a plus if you are staying there.

Also, the hotel is located near the metro station and you will easily find a taxi.
Just don`t hire the taxi in front of the hotels, they charge a lot more.
just find one on the street or call an UBER.

The hotel is a very nice place to stay. It has affordable prices and staff are very polite and helpful. Be advised that there are 2 towers, west, and east, know in which one you have booked your room in advance so you don`t have to walk. The room was clean and well maintained except for the bathroom.
We had a stuck toilet and the seat cover was loose. otherwise, everything was good.

What I liked the most was that the hotel is attached to a shopping mall.
There is a seven eleven, money changer and Starbucks among others.
There is a supermarket on the lower flow.

There is a variety of shops but shops on the lower flow have more expensive prices. Shops on the higher level other cheaper price.

DONT FORGET TO BARGAIN. They refuse to lower the price just leave and see the magic.

The hotel is also within walking distance of KWC shopping mall. you will get a better price there compare to Berjaya times square.

The breakfast is also amazing, lots of choice and meals. You can eat as much as you want. The food is also delicious

Excellent hotel and very good location

Perfect location & Value for Money. Only setback is there are 2 towers & to walk  from the lobby  is quite a distance. Not advisable for senior citizens. Connected to shopping center is a bonus & i enjoyed my stay.

Awesome Location

Excellent location, Imbi station is just right in front. 
Staff was efficient. Stayed in a suite, which Is quite a distance from the main lobby as it is at another tower. Cups in the room were permanently stained and cannot be washed off, had to ask for a replacement which was less stained but still was. Layout was a bit weird with the wardrobe door not being able to open fully because it was crammed near the bed. Otherwise it was comfortable enough.

Excellent location

Nice hotel within walking distance of a number of attractions and a metro station close by. Staff were friendly, especially on reception (Nell I think checked us in).  Breakfast was amazing - called it continental breakfast but not like any other continental Ive had consisting of a croissant and coffee.  There was so much choice - omelettes, chinese stir-fry, noodles and rice, various curries (depending on the day) as well as vegetarian options, plus cereals and porridge as well as great selection of fruit and toast/croissants/pastries if you were still in need of food. We never needed lunch as we ate so well at breakfast.  My only suggestion to improve would be to have some different tea bags available.  The staff were generally friendly at breakfast, although quite a number of the other guests were really rude to them. 
There was a lovely spa which we used and had a fabulous treatment and the pool on the 15th floor was nice too.  Although this were not really enough seats/loungers around and it tended to be in the shade in the afternoon.
Our room was in the West tower and we had been warned to expect noise due to local building however we didn't hear anything and the only disturbances were due to the fireworks going off as it was Chinese New Year.  Maybe thats why there was little building noise!. Our room was lovely, large and a bathroom with separate/adjoining toilet - lovely big shower.  the air con was adequate during the day but seemed particularly efficient at night - finally found the temperature needed to be turned up in order not to be frozen overnight.
Concierge were helpful in advising re taxi's/Grab/Uber etc.

ARRIVAL.
Pick up by Buffalo tour on time and got to Hotel 90 minutes later because of rush hour,
would like to say we had Buffalo tours for all our pick up and drop off,s excellent company.

HOTEL.
Arrived at front desk a little quite check in was very quick and very professional done.

ROOM.
we were on 25th floor in room 2509 very spacious could do with a lick of decorating but overall in lovely condition, really room had a bit of wasted space but this is not a compliant it was great to have so much space maybe space was for extra bed.The icing on the cake for us was that the Hotel had put a lovely cake and red rose petals every where wishing us a Happy 10th Anniversary.Well done guys such a kind thought of which u didn't have to do but THANK YOU.

FOOD.
We just had breakfast there which was fair at best it seems that they cater to Muslims more than they do Westerns, no pork which meant no BACON its the only time i eat this is on vacation.I do believe that all hotels should cater to all types of guest regardless of they beliefs.

SERVICE.
Overall the service from all departments was outstanding we couldn't,t fault a single thing and as it stands i would as a Hospitality Manager so i do enjoy seeing things done in different Hotels and Countries.

SUROUNDINGS OF HOTEL.
I promise you when i say this you can't pick a better Hotel for location.

OVERALL.
Great place to stay very Central, lots to do, great night markets, etc etc.

Starting our 10th Anniversary trip

Flew from Hong Kong tired, hungry, long drive from airport, checking in was confusing two receptions on different levels depending status of rooms club benefits etc. The hotel was stuffy, air con questionable. Yes there's a small theme park inside the shopping centre which is attatched to hotel,1st impressions, looked tired & boring. No one was using it. Hated the shopping centre go to The Pavillion down the road the best one in KL. Back to hotel room to settle in wheres our luggage? It's been 1 hour still in reception on the ground floor? They don't deliver your bags on check in with out permission from supervisor for security reasons? So went to special club lounge area to get a meal to be told we couldn't eat the food set up for happy hour until 5pm really omg so we ordered a room service meal as no restaurant open yet.Waiting Waiting, 50 minutes later we left starving back at the room luggage still no where in site. Over the lack of service with no one able to make a decision we called mgr to room. After stating our disappointment enough was enough we checked out and went straight to the Shangrila Hotel. Best decision nothing was a problem service was up to Shangrila standards. My advice go elsewhere Berjaya Times Square Hotel staff need training, low service skills, out door pool area the staff were more interested in watching a young  guest with his drone flying around the out door area. Ummm guys really, privacy breach
big time not funny. Honest review, terrible experience.
