This hotel is infested with mould including the room we were given! We asked the man on the front desk if we could move rooms, shocked that he had placed us in such room and he showed us to a new room which had no visible mould but still smelt strongly of mould (mould had clearly been painted over). We had arrived at 2am from our flight so we had to stay until morning. We had booked 4 nights but checked out straight away in the morning!! I advised the new man on the front desk that we were checking out because of the mould and I asked for a refund of the room tax we had paid in cash when we arrived for the 3 nights we wouldn’t be staying there. He had a huge grin on his face and refused to give this back to us. He apologised for the mould but it was not genuine. Luckily Expedia refunded me very quickly. We lost our money on the room tax but oh well, we are glad we are out of there!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

INFESTED WITH MOULD! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

A very simple hotel amidst street food stalls n a huge pile of rubbish a few steps away.Musty smell fills the corridors - and yes, better check your towels before you use them. Mine had yellow stains which I had to replace with the apologetic, obliging and friendly front desk guy.If you are cleanliness concious, be warned - at least bring your own towels! Oh, and must I add, I was welcome by a long legged spider on the stained wall outside my toilet, as i opened my door to my room! Sigh.... I had to get the wonderfully obliging front desk guy to remove it. Just when I thought i could finally spend the night alone, I realized i had a tiny cockroach companion up the wall above my bed. Sigh.... And that slanted picture beside my bed! Damn! Thank Heavens it didnt fall onto me as I slept.  Well.... the Galaxy ain't all that nasty as they say, but the toilet is relatively big as compared to other budget hotels in the area, and if you need to extend your room beyond your check out time, they charge you by the hour. You'll love the extremely convenient location in the vibrant bukit bintang area where you will never get bored.

When I read the review on tripadvisor I have prepared for the worst while staying here, but it turns out not that bad! It has a very good location, near basically everywhere (also near mrt and monorail). Though near the hotel there is pile of junk that stinks but the hotel it self doesn't smell. We have the room for three at the underground, surprisingly the room is very tidy and the floor too, nothing near my expectation! The bathroom also doesn't smell and tidy. The shower inside is a bit cramped but is clean and hot water running perfectly. The receptionists are very good! I forgot to bring my three pin socket and they lend me for three days for free! Overall, this is not bad at all, and clean. They change my rubbish bin everyday.

Not Bad at All!

The hotel was terrible , the space of the room and toilet was extremely small , and it's located in the basement so no signal in the room , WiFi is not accessible , no hot shower , the place is old and dirty , smelly , the door key is from Mr DIY store which mean anyone can enter ur room even though u locked it , this the worst hotel I been and it gives me nightmare , the only good thing is it's located right in the Alor Street

Warning not to stay

I booked this hotel from a booking com and because traffic jam I arrive at the hotel around 8 PM but it turns out they gave the room that I booked to someone else and asked me to stay in another type of room with additional charge, they said it because I didn't show up by 4 PM (but they never confirm to me about the check-in time). it was pretty late and we're pretty tired so we have no choice but to stay. the room was okay but the shower room not that clean, they didn't even bother to put remote for the AC and the TV (they even said the TV is not working so we cannot use it)
by the check out time, we had to wait 30 minutes because there is no one at the receptionist. it was really really disappointing. I won't recommend this place because the service is really bad.

We weren't informed by hotels.com that 'NIDA rooms' was an agent therefore it took us over an hour to actually find out that this was the case and we in fact was booked to stay in Hotel Galaxy?! 

The description is correct. On the food street - i can't emphasise enough how disgusting the street is. Smelly and dirty. Food was prepared all day in the heat so rotting food is all you smell here. 

The hotel was awful. There was blood on the walls and pillows along with other marks and stains, no working TV as advertised and cockroaches in the bathroom. We've stayed in some bad hostels/hotels during out travels but this was the worst. 

I didn't feel safe whatsoever. The locals constantly stared as if you shouldn't be there.

This hotel plus the smelly street was so bad that we checked out within an hour and stayed in an airbnb for the night.

Avoid. Dirty and smelly!

Hotel on budget in a great location friendly reception and nice rooms can have a good discount if stayed for more than 1 week, the hotel is located in the famous jalan alor street food in bukit bintang, stay there and you will never get hungry, it is 10 mins far by walk to the MRT Train station and about 15 mins walk from the nightlife pubs

One of the best hotels in the food street market

it's the cheap hotel located in center of KL on Alor Street. The room have Bathroom but don't have the toilet inside we should go to use shared toliet even it very dirty. the light and other insude was  broken. the bed is not clean. floor is full of dust. Pls don't come here it's very Bad

Very Bad Hotel !!

Very dirty place, very bad smell, ugly rooms with no windows, not so cheap, the WiFi does not work in all the rooms. I had to ask to change the bedsheets twice because they kept putting dirty bedsheets...Good location though, in the city center and in a very cool little street with many street food restaurants
