Nothing to fault with this hotel except the wifi gets disconnected very often and a hassle to reconnect every time. Room is small but clean with toiletries. Fridge is not cold enough though. Reception is very friendly and efficient. 

Excellent Location 

Pros:-
5-10 mins walk to mall and customs with sheltered stairway.
Mini market beside the hotel.
Halal restaurant just in front of the hotel.
Clean and nice room.
Toothbrush and shampoo set are provided.
Hairdryer provided if requested.
Active and helpful staffs.

Cons:-
Room is not so soundproof.

Superior Double Room

Very boring. Nothing to see or do nearby. It is more of a residential area. It is quite far away from the city and will take you at least a good half hour to get there by foot. Have to depend on taxis and grab if you want to get somewhere.

Very boring

The CIQ hotel at Jalan Trus is 4 mins walk from JB City Square J.Co exit, cross the road, climb a sheltered stairway and turn right and walk a few steps to the hotel. Very convenient. The street is well lit even at 1am and did not feel dangerous. Good for watching late night movies. 

The hotel facade is colourful and stands out from the other buildings. The decor of the reception has a retro feel. Alex welcomed us at the reception and was friendly and chatty. He passed us the remote control for the tv during check in. Be careful not to lose the room card.

We booked the room last min and there was only 1 standard room available. The rate was very  affordable for the location and the hotel is only 6 months old. The room was at the basement. First time i stayed at a room in the basement. It had no windows and felt slightly claustrophobic. Good thing was the room was pitched black and we were able to sleep without being awoken by sunlight. 

The room was compact. With a table and tv and an open hanging space and safe. Tv only had local and Singapore channels. The toilet was next to the bed. The shower had no curtains and this meant that when you shower, the entire toilet will flood. Remember to close the toilet bowl lid or it will be soaked. The hole in the wall was too small to place our own standard 100ml toiletries bottle, only their own mini tubes. It will be good to provide a shelving for guests. Drainage of water can be better. Remember to place the floor towel outside of the toilet to prevent it from getting completely wet. 

The sheets felt a little itchy and the 2 pillows provided were really flat. We asked for extra pillows and were told we had to pay 5rm per pillow. Soundproofing of the room was bad and we were woken up several times by slamming doors and people talking. 

We asked for late check out and were given till 1230pm. But were allowed to stow our bags at the reception. 

Tips: 
- Need to pay 100rm or 50sgd for deposit. 
- Bring your own tissues & bedroom slippers. - Ask for the hairdryer, water boiler and hangers from reception. 
- Free 2 small bottles water. 
- Old school biscuits provided next to lift.


Affordable and good location with room for improvement.

I stayed here for one night in a Superior room booked online. Finding this hotel was bit difficult when you first arrive as there are hotels with same name found in Johor Bahru. Took a cab from Malaysia customs. The hotel is not far. It takes about 5 minutes only in cab. The hotel was average looking. But it was decent enough to stay for one night for the price paid. No nearby hygiene restaurants.  But managed to have lunch, dinner and next day breakfast in the near by located small Indian restaurant. So when you book this hotel beware of reaching the right one. And you have to rely on cabs only to go anywhere from here.

Average hotel, but near to Malaysia customs

Walked in to this hotel last minute to stayed the night over. Paid Rm130. Room was clean and have all the basic necessities that is needed in a hotel room. 5 mins walk to Malaysia custom. Hotel is surrounded by eateries and there is a police headquarter beside the hotel. So you will feel safe being around that area. Would recommend it for transit stay. 

Basic decent hotel 

The first room, 206, smelled like cold cigarette smoke, the second room, 111, didn't have any windows and smelled like mold, the third room, 306, was okay, but the AC only went on or off, but it took a long time to sleep.

It went badly.

I was looking for a clean hotel close to the border, it's done. The rooms are clean and the hotel is within 10 minutes of customs, has feet. Elevator, fast wifi, cafe and the available and a few restaurants facing the hotel. Hotel suitable for transit in Singapore. However, avoid peak hours during which thousands of Malaysians cross the border to work in Singapore.... For single women traveling to Johor Bahru, be careful at night.

At the Malaysia/Singapore border

The hotel is ideal for visiting Singapore, just a few steps from Causeway Bay. Clean and fresh room. We had to change because we had a concern about the toilet, the staff helped us carry our stuff. An ant invasion but under the equator, it's not surprising. Hostess's welcome is quite cold. Ideal for one or two nights. Good quality/price ratio, too bad that early arrival is overcharged for 20 MYR.

Hotel next to Causeway Bay

All new, so clean, the rooms are rather spacious and well-arranged, plus it's the first little budget hotel we've come across that has shower cabins that keep you from getting your feet wet out of every step in the bathroom. Located in a quiet, quiet place with several small restaurants right across the street. It's located 5 minutes walk from the bus station or is full of different shops and restaurants. The staff is very forward looking and it's a real pearl... Really an ideal drop point when you land in the country (if you're more of a traveler or adventurer).
