SPOT ON 90283 27 Muntri

Small but cheap rooms in a great location.  It's around the corner from Love Lane.  The private rooms are small but do have aircon a shower and a toilet.  The free wifi was pretty good.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  The walls are thin however so bring some earplugs.  They do ask for a deposit of 50 Rm.  I would stay here again.

Small but cheap rooms in a great location.  Noisy though

I worst place I saw... we checked in and 10 min later we checked out... The dorm wasn't clean for a long long time... When I touched the mattress , the BED BUGS showed up to say hello!!!!  Completely infested, everywhere.... Also Full of mosquitoes, eating you... No windows,  the ceiling is directly the roof tiles... No body there...  obviously ... What ghost place... Not even for free I will stay there... 

Stay away!!! Horrendous!!! 

I dont know where to begin. 
- it felt like a refugee camp for the mixed dorm. 
- Floor was super stained, it seemed like they didnt clean it for months
- toilet wasn't working, sink was flooded and the lights were broken. 
- another toilet was full of human discharges, literally on the wall)
- its hot inside without proper ventilation
- the ceiling was not covered (u can see the roof tile) so the consequence of it is that when it the sun shines u can feel the heat radiating directly into the room
- basically the pillows and mattress are also smelly
- Rats! destroyed our food and crawled on our bed! go to the FB page to see photographic evidence
- we call this place the refugee camp, the only difference is that we have to pay for it.

i have stayed in various cheap backpackers lodge,but this one is the worst. Just bad and wasted. Not gonna recommend this place for anyone. The place doesn't even look the same as in the website. Fans not working, some of the bed got no mattress, pillows  everywhere, rubbish is everywhere, light in the bathroom is not working, whatever it is. Feels like sleeping in a garbage bin !  Please do something about it

The worst

Photos of hotels and promises are always shined up, but I never tried it to this extreme before. The list of problems could be endless for this place. Let us start from the beginning, I booked it through Agoda, but the place was listed as pay on arrival, fine with me. A few hours later I got a message to transfer money to the hostel, which would be extremely expensive from overseas account, actually more than the total price. Then no answer from them until I pushed Agoda to contact them - they only answered after they could charge me half the price for the booking. The arrival was terrible. Took 20 minutes to wake up the guy on duty, and then they made some mess up in the booking on their side (I could show my booking from Agoda but they insisted it was more days). Then the room with so-called attached shower. Firstly that means that the room is much more smelly than normal for Penang, but it also, I found out, does not mean a private bathroom, so others used my shower during the day, I was lucky to bring all valuables with me the first day and after that I carried them every day. Then overhearing people in the reception losing things from their lockers (staying in rooms shared with others). A bit back to the photos: the place says it has a rooftop, and yes it does have that. The photos show a nice "bar like" roof top, the fact is that the roof top is totally empty and dark with only 2-3 working chairs left. Photos also show backpackers and tourists sitting outside, well, what you will see is a closed metal door that is hard to open to even get in. A welcoming place? Absolutely no. Fake from one end to the other? Most likely. Again, because wary, I kept my receipt that I had to ask specifically for for the deposit very safe, otherwise I doubt they would give any return. 
I have staked in many hostels and low cost places, but this place seems more like a scam - from booking to leaving
