You Le Yuen

The experience at You Le Yuen is fantastic Its a beautiful building and the room are charming. Pei, Jane and Ryan go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need. They give great advice on where to eat and what to see and can organise fantastic tours (food and sites) with their lovely guide Lau. The BnB is perfectly located to walk around the old parts of George Town and close to fantastic food, both street food and restaurants. Highly recommend a stay here.

Awsome place to stay very central in George Town! So many nice details, very personal with only 4 room and the hoste Jane is amazing. Very warm welcome, many good tips. Especially the Tour with „Loveley Lau“ is something to do! A private Tour with good food and nice sights.😊 Would definitely recommand this hotel and come back.

We could not find a taxi kiosk inside the hotel but there were plenty of taxis outside. It's an half hour ride to the hotel. You have to order your breakfast the night before and give a rough time. The breakfast comes with fresh orange juice and great coffee or tea. There are plenty of cheap places to eat close by. If they don't serve alcohol you can get beer from the supermarket at the bottom of Love Lane. There also a few bars at the bottom of Love Lane. We can recommend Micke's Place where they had live music every night starting about 9pm.
Even though the bottom of Love Lane is very busy the hotel is far enough away so there was no noise at night. 
We can recommend this hotel if you like something different.

Extremely beautiful boutique hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, and lovely common space to relax in. Location is perfect, with yummy local street food within walking distance and restaurants/bars just down the road. The staff are friendly and helpful, check in and out process extremely smooth! If you like something a little different you’ll love You Le Yuen. In a traditional shophouse, only 4 rooms with vintage furnishings, a very friendly and helpful owner, and a ridiculously low price. Lonely Planet rated it the best place to stay in George Town and we agree!

You Le Yuen heritage guesthouse is as heritage and authentic as it gets. The old heritage building has been meticulously restored to its former glory and is absolutely beautiful. Our room, the south duplex suite, was cute and really cool that it had 2 levels. Upstairs was a nice and spacious bedroom and downstairs a nice and comfy living room with the bathroom. Bathroom is on the small side but it's got everything you need and a super nice shower so not a problem for us.
The host, Jane, is absolutely brilliant. We did a bit of research on where to go, what to do and where to eat but she gave us so many good local recommendations we otherwise wouldn't have found. She also booked us a full day food and sightseeing tour with the lovely Lau. This tour was amazing, we got to eat again at so many places we wouldn't have found ourselves and everything was super delicious. We also visited most if not all of the must see sights on Penang island in between all the eating. So if you're staying at You Le Yuen we'd highly recommend doing this full day tour too!
Next to the property being beautiful on both the outside and in, the location of it is perfect too. It's nestled in the middle of the old and charming China Town and a short walk to a lot of great food (restaurants and street food markets) and bars for a drink at night.

The host, Jane, was a lovely lady who really tried hard to ensure our stay was special. She was so kind and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the location is perfect. Right in heart of Georgetown, close to everything for waking on foot, but equally nicely away from the noise at night. Jane also suggested a tour with the lovely Lau, which was amazing and highly recommended for anyone looking to try as many of the different street food options in small places across the town that only the locals eat in. We would never have found these gems on our own without this relaxed and interesting tour! I highly recommend You le Yuen. Without doubt, the perfect place to stay to get a true experience in Georgetown!

You Le Yuen offers a cosy and home-like experience with an extremely friendly and hospitable staff. It is a nicely renovated shophouse filled with character. Aside from the lovely interior of the place, the location is also great! It is near to a lot of good food and walkable to some of the must-see spots and museums. There are a few street arts around the area as well.  Would definitely stay there again! 

If I ever had the chance to live somewhere in Georgetown it would be this little boutique hotel, "You Le Yuen" 7 Love lane. The design and the ambience is really wonderful, and you see and feel this as you walk through the entrance area, past the small boutique. Interestingly the design and colours of the clothes makes them feel as though they actually designed to complement the ambience of the hotel, unique, casual and classy.

The bedroom was beautiful and we had a very nice balcony from our room which looked into the main area that was lit by a huge roof window which is open through the day to let in all the natural daylight, which creates a very tranquil feeling.

All the staff were very warm and welcoming, service was a good standard, and I have to say as a coffee lover they have an excellent coffee which I was told is unique to them, so its worth it just to call in for a coffee and enjoy the Georgetown Heritage atmosphere in tranquil heritage surroundings.

Loved the location, very quiet in the evening to sleep even though all bars and restaurants are just 5 mins walk away at the end of Love lane. The design style and atmosphere of this boutique hotel was fantastic, so peaceful and relaxing surrounded by natural materials. The design even has strong eco elements where rain water is captured, filtered and recycled, a key aspect in today’s world

Breakfast great and staff very friendly and welcoming. There is also a really interesting unique bohemian clothes boutique just inside the hotel entrance which also somehow adds to the unique atmosphere of this small hotel.

I would recommend “You Le Yuen” for anyone looking to visit Georgetown for a few days and wishing to experience a small hotel that reflects the uniqueness of Georgetown itself.

We loved the rich beauty of the genuine old house in the old town. The room was spacious and comfortable and a haven from the city traffic. So many sights and eateries are nearby on foot, making it easy to appreciate Georgetown in just a few days. 

Our host was full of good ideas on where to eat and what to see. We felt right at home here and are very impressed by what Georgetown has to offer. We highly recommend this safe, clean and historic residence to fully experience the delights of Georgetown.
