We have had a great stay in Blantyre. Malawians are a wonderful and hospitable people and this is reflected in the way we have been treated at the hotel.
Always a pleasant reception with a smile, always ready and helpful. The service has been excellent.

I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel with a group of 28 people from the United States of America. They provided our lodging and our meals. The facilities are top-notch. The employees are attentive and very professional. The beds are comfortable and the showers are the best that I’ve ever found in Malawi. The food service was absolutely amazing! In the week that we stayed there, every meal that was served was excellent and delicious. I would highly recommend this property and will be staying here in the future many more times with groups that we work with.

The employees were very friendly, they were attending to me on time and some of the servers are not bad at all especially the new rooms they are very nice , they clean it very well and on time , and the food they are okay and when u do room service they never disappoint.

An experience I won’t forget in  while to come, the hospitality of the staff members and people of Malawi was amazing and wonderful. 

I highly recommend the Malawi sun hotel as a holiday destination for anyone wishing to visit and spend time in Malawi.

It was a nice hotel with a comfortable room and nice bathroom. I was there only for one night for work but we managed to have a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant and a quick breakfast, where I was happy to see they serve Mzuzu coffee. After coming back the staff also resent me my invoice upon request which was very kind of them.

For a business trip i was booked at the Malawi Sun Hotel. Slightly of the main road in down town Blantyre so very quiet, I spend 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. The welcome was very pleasant and friendly. Room was new, spacious and very clean. Amazing  hotel team, I am looking forward to my next visit.

Rooms are very comfortable, the restaurant food is great!!! Wifi was also great. The hotel staff is really kind aamd welcoming and they try their best to accommodate your needs. No gym but Blantyre and the hotel.location is great for a good run or walk!

The executive was definitely the best I have stayed in across the hotels in Africa. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were extremely kind and professional. The restaurant surprised me with some incredible food. Will definitely stay here every trip I come for in Malawi.

The hotel facilities are in good condition and very clean. I was always met with a smile and noticeable warmth whenever I interacted with a staff member. They are so courteous and generally very helpful that one always feels welcome. Many thanks.

I stayed here for a work-trip but wished I could have stayed longer. The hotel is well located with great customer service and the best aspect is the stunning view of the rooms onto the rolling hills of Blantyre.

Hidden Gem in Blantyre

The start of my stay was shake due to a misunderstanding during check in process. Once it came to the attention of the Front Office Manager, the issue was addressed and went out of their way to make my stay very comfortable. The desire for Management to resolve issues was amazing. The rooms are very comfortable and of high standard. The location is, quiet and not far from the airport. Meals were decent despite the need to upgrade the restaurant and the conference facilities were very good, with efficient service....always on time!. The entire staff team was very friendly throughout my stay.

Some parts are still under construction but the disruptions was negligeable. Looking forward to when the entire facility is upgraded. 

I will definitely go back!

Very Comfortable Rooms and Very Friendly Staff

Thanks to the friendly staff and great service, I had a wonderful stay recently at Malawi Sun hotel on my visit to Blantyre.  Temperature was a cool autumn feel up on the plateau city and was really pleasant.  The hotel is spread out with lush green garden walkways. My lovely room faces a beautiful sunrise, and had a balcony where I sit each evening to enjoy the fabulous view of nearby hills and distant mountains.  I particularly loved being able to park my rented car practically at my bedroom doorstep, and very secured as the entrance gate to my building is always closed with 24/7 security.  Breakfast buffet was small and simple, but sufficient for me as all the basic items were there. Dinner on the other hand was too many choices, and I enjoyed a most delicious dinner of Indian curries one evening and a piece of juicy steak on another.  On my last day, the hotel arranged a day trip for me to Majete African Park. I was so lucky and happy to see a family of elephants and a couple of giraffe eating leaves from the top of tall trees.  They were a sight to behold. At the river, I could just see the ears of Hippos sticking out of the water, and a full head emerging just once. Lots of impalas and antelopes, and warthogs.  All in all, a great trip! Will do it again. 

Great value and experience 

Business stay. The rooms were clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this place very highly for anyone looking to stay on a business trip. The staff were helpful and very attentive. 
Any requests for clarification or assistance were attended to immediately. 

Only area of improvement would be the breakfast. It was limited in vegetarian or gluten free options. 

Though the fresh fruit table was very well stocked.

Very Comfortable 

Excellent hotel for a short break.Wonderful staff and was treated with a brand new room that had everything a traveller would look for in a hotel room.Very spacious room and bathroom.Very quiet area.Good breakfast.Would highly recommend this hotel.Walking distance from the city centre.Very clean room. Great wifi .A 5 star room at a 3 star price.Thank you to the Malawi Sun staff for a wonderful stay!

Super Holiday, Great Hotel
Very happy to have picked Malawi Sun Blantyre Hotel for my safari holiday in September.  Stayed for 2 nights, then spent 3 nights at the Africa Park about 2-hour drive away.  Certainly lucky to see elephants, impalas, monkeys, warthogs hippos, lions, etc. in their natural habitat.  Except for the mosquitoes, the lodge and food was basic but still great.  Returned to Malawi Sun for another overnight stay.  Room at Malawi Sun was very nice, friendly people and very good service.  Breakfast is okay, but can be improved, otherwise the dinner was really good.  Price was rather reasonable especially for the nice new room that we were assigned.
I had always wanted to visit Africa and experience a safari park.  Was not disappointed.

Super Holiday, Great Hotel

This is my second visit to Blantyre and stay at the Malawi Sun Hotel.  My first overnight stay here earlier this year was enjoyable as the people were very friendly and made me feel welcomed.  My four nights stay here in August was most commendable.  The place had taken on great changes.  This time I was put into one of the newly renovated rooms; bright and spacious with a balcony overlooking the distant mountains.  Apart from the great service from their friendly smiling staff, what I enjoyed most was the food.  I met the new General Manager who recommended I try the Indian curry as they have a new chef, and the prawn curry was definitely yummy.  It you like lamb, the lamb and dahl curries are one of the best I have tasted.  Overall, I would rate this hotel highly recommendable for great location, good service, excellent food; and would be staying here again on my next business trip.

Strongly Recommended

The hotel is fine and is within walking distance of the city center. The two biggest problems are the wifi and mosquitoes in the rooms. Every day I found at least 3 mosquitoes in my room. The WiFi is slow and unreliable. Still, overall it's a decent hotel in Blantyre with large rooms and decent service.
