I stayed here recently for two nights as it was close to the Isalo national park. The rooms were spacious and nicely laid out within a nice setting. However, the lighting was rather gloomy. Wi-Fi was only available in the reception area. Whilst the staff were pleasant, unfortunately the food in the restaurant wasn’t good. The pork in particular was terrible. Zebu steak was perhaps slightly better apart from the gritty pepper sauce. The soup wasn’t too bad. There wasn’t a great wine selection and one of the bottles we chose happened to be corked so we went it back. The staff disagreed with us that the red wine was corked saying that it needed to be chilled. I explained that red wine isn’t normally chilled and that it was definitely off and after a lot of discussion they eventually accepted this and didn’t charge us. There was no offer of a replacement or alternative though.

Nice rooms but terrible food

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2-week group tour of Madagascar. It was a good base from which we could explore the fantastic Isalo National Park. The restaurant provided a hearty breakfast each morning and a reasonable choice of dishes for dinner, which changed each day. Power is solar-powered and therefore can cut out: all the dining tables needed their candles! WiFi was also rather patchy - most people could get it in the reception, but nowhere else on the complex. I couldn't even pick it up there - but a group of teenagers were all constantly glued to social media on their phones. We were also there in the Madagascan winter and the bungalows are not heated, though hot water is available in the evening (but beware: not in the morning!). Our first night was quiet, the second less so - there was a party in a nearby village and the noise of the festivities carried across the plain until the wee small hours.

Nicely presented, but not without its glitches

This was by far my favourite hotel in Madagascar. The grounds were beautiful, the pool was nice, our room was perfect, but above all, the staff treated us so well. 

We were travelling on our honeymoon and went out of their way to make it special for us. Upon our arrival, they had asked us to pick our dinner options ahead of time and let them know what time we were planning on eating. We thought this was part of their regular service but upon speaking with other guests that wasn't the case. When we arrived for dinner, our table was decked out honeymoon style. Swans and handcut hearts. It was perfect. 

This is also where we discovered madagascar hot sauce. Its incredibly spicy, but delicious and this hotel's homemade is worth trying (go very sparingly). 

Everything was perfect about our stay, and i'd go back any day.

Wonderfull Staff, great room, excellent experience!

This is a nice, clean place that leads to a comfortable stay during your visit to Isalo.  The restaurant also serves good food, but they have a limited supply of each choice, so if you come in after a tour group, you may not get your first choice of meal.  The fan in the room is an added bonus, and the pool is a nice place to hang out in after a hot walk through the park.  The staff is also very helpful and friendly.  The only advice I would give is to try to avoid bungalow #1.  It’s near the pool, so you get a lot of noise during the day.  You can also hear the loud conversations in the early morning from the parking lot, as the drivers get their cars ready for the day, as well as have long conversations.  It may not be a problem for most, but if you want a quiet downtime after the long drive getting there, or after a long hike, or to sleep in a bit longer, some may find the noise off putting.  That’s the only downside on an otherwise great place.

Nice, comfortable stay, but try to avoid bungalow #1

I have been to this hotel 3 times and am always completely satisfied.  I travel with about 15 Seniors and everyone loves the place. We visit ISALO park and are always happy to come back to the hotel and lounge by the pool.

Wonderful staff and rooms.  The food is excellent.

This hotel is conveniently located to the entrance of Isalo National Parl. The rooms are clean, very large with fans and good bathrooms, and the foos in the restaurant is truly excellent. Their massage service at incredibly cheap price is warmly recommended. The best thing is uniformly excellent staff.

Good budget hotel close to entrance of Isalo National Parl

This is a great hotel and the staff are very welcoming. We had a very nice dinner with generous portion. The room is on solar so you need to shower in the evening, but good hot water supply. We had a problem when checking out as we had paid on booking by credit card which apparently is not accepted by the hotel and they wanted us to pay again and claim back from hotels.com. This needs urgent attention as it places the reception staff in a difficult situation and sours the experience.

Comfortable stay and good staff

We had the pleasure to stay here for two nights while visiting Isalo Nat Park. We were blown away by the service( Danny Rak) professional, impressionable, amazing service skills!!!The food was fantastic, the rooms comfortable and roomy. WiFi worked in reception area only, but worked well. Highly recommended

Wow! What service, in the desert!

Close to Ranohira.The bungalows are in a nice garden.The room is bright ,big and clean,,as also the bathroom with a good shower. The bed was exellent,with a big mosquito net.The pool was clean.Verry nice breakfast with fresh fruitjuice.Verry friendly staff.The food for dinner was exellent.Good Wiffy at the reception only,would be nice to have Wiffy in the restaurant,, .

Nice Bungalows Hotel

Just outside Ranohira town there are these bungalows. Rooms are clean and bright with fan and mosquito net. There is also a pool to hang around. At restaurant they have tasty food. Service is good enough
