74 reviewsThe bottom line: A charming and fragrant (it does smell good) resort that is made of a handful of roomy lodges around the main wooden villa. The place will take you back in time without sacrificing your comfort. The food is excellent also. The owners, Catherine and Bertrand, and the personnel are both sweet and reliable. The good: - The rooms are spacious and overall comfortable with a touch of local design. - The service is good and can swiftly accommodate specific yet reasonable needs (e.g. change double beds to twins, specific diets including picky children). - The high quality and inventive food that is served during lunch and dinner is unforgettable. - The hotel is a partner of CetaMada - an NGO that focuses on protecting cetaceans and helping the local community - and abides by its chart and the related environmental regulations. It can arrange excursions to observe the whales in July and August. The bad: - The rooms might be a tad dark due to the predominance of dark wood. This is clearly not a showstopper though. - The breakfast service is surprisingly slow and disorganised. However, the owners have been quick to react and we did see an improvement on the next morning. - The hotel lacks a few toys for infants (0-3 years old). So make sure you bring yours. Grownups will find a wide range of games in the main villa though. So disconnect your phones and spend time with your children🙂. - Also snacks should be made available (even if for sale) in the main villa between meals for those who choose to stay there during the day. - No beach to relax at the moment but they are working on it. Your best bet is to book an excursion to one of the amazing beaches nearby. Alternatively there is a swimming pool and plenty of chairs for your naps. Conclusion: I highly recommend this hotel for all kinds of travellers, including families. It is very quiet and offers a high level quality of service. The atmosphere is relaxing. The garden is also uniquely fragrant and beautiful. Above all, the people you will meet there will make the difference.
