On business in Luxembourg for a few weeks. Motel Drive-In ideally situated in Capellen. Because of its location (just outside Luxembourg city) and its pricing, it fills-up very quickly so you must book early. It is basic, but well maintained, very clean and warm. Room has ensuite bathroom/shower facilities. Good internet access in room. 
The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Late check-in is catered for which is really handy. Dry cleaning also possible through reception. 
There is breakfast facility at €9 in the restaurant. The restaurant is undergoing planned refurbishment so not a lot more happening there. Capellen is very quiet, but there are some local restaurants worth a visit.

Basic but perfectly adequate accommodation for business travel

Does pretty much what it says. We arrived very late so rang in advance to let them know in case of access problems, being a motel. Very helpful gentleman made the necessary arrangements - so that was good. Clean simple rooms with no frills. Beds somewhat small and somewhat hard with basic bathrooms and small towels ! Plenty of parking and I suspect the main market is for passing stopovers or business visitors wishing to avoid expensive hotels in the City. Basic breakfast, French style, for an extra 9 Euros. For the quality its pricy, but when compared to City prices it may not be at 150 Euros/night. As I said at the beginning it delivers what it is so OK I guess...

Motel Format Hotel

This is a basic and clean motel. The beds are good and the shower works well! Upon arrival you get a basic, business like reception but very helpful. Wifi is complementary and depending on the occupancy not bad.
There is plenty of parking space around and on the motel premises.
Don't expect high end lodgings, this is a basic next-to-a-road motel. The motel has a bar and a restaurant but closes around 2300h.
Within it class: a Very Good rating is deserved.


Basic & clean motel

I work regularly in Luxembourg and usually stay in the centre or around Kirchberg.  On this occasion I was late booking a hotel and there was nothing available near the centre, so for the second time I booked the Motel Drive-In at Capellen.  Capellen itself is a non-descript suburb of Luxembourg City with little to offer.  The Motel is an unexciting looking building, but in its own way is a little gem.  Firstly, the staff - I arrived very late in the evening, I had not eaten and the proprietor rang a number of local restaruants to see if either they were open for trade or would deliver.  The answer from all was "no".  He didn't want to see me starve so prepared a meal for me himself and delivered it to my room.  The en suite rooms are a little tired looking but provide everything you need - flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities and a comfortable bed.  There are very regular bus services to the centre from a bus stop outside the hotel.  If you are struggling to find accommodation in Luxembourg and either have a car or don't mind a 30 minute bus ride (in rush hour - 15 off-peak) then this is a great alternative.

Fantastic service

We checked in at all sorts of establishments on our 18 day tour of Germany. Luxembourg, and Belgium in June. But there was one thing they all had in common. All had interior corridors and most were two or three stories with no rooms for tourists on the ground floor. Motel Drive In just outside Luxembourg City was the only establishment where all the rooms were  on the ground floor and all the rooms opened directly onto the parking lot. You could drive your car right up to your room just like an American motel. 

On the downside unlike most European hotels that feature restaurants, this place was supposed to have a restaurant, but it was conveniently closed. In fact our party and one other party were the only occupants of the building on the night of June 19. Even the manager absconded and told us where to drop our keys in the morning. We ended up dining at the grocery store across the street called Match where everyone spoke French only. We had a hard time making ourselves understood and had to settle for petit dejeuner in the morning whether we liked it or not. It consisted of two kinds of rolls with either tea or coffee.
