This hotel does not have 24 hour reception, as stated clearly when we booked. However, when we informed them that we would be arriving outside the hours the reception was open, it was no problem, and they were open as we arrived. We even could already put our luggage in the room. Staff could be friendlier, but were conscientious about safety measures during the corona pandemic. Staff spoke at least 5 languages. The rooms were clean, and the hotel is very centrally located.

Decent sized and well maintained rooms, centrally located

I booked this hotel while I was on the road. At first, I didn’t see that they very specific check in time. I booked this place 1 hour before there check in time ended up. Clearly by mistake, because drive time to this location was more then 2,5 hours. When I realized that, I tried to call them couple times. They didn’t answer, and eventually I showed up at their door. No one open, lights were turned off, door locked. I had to cancel it to book another place. Even though it was a mistake, I was ok with some decent fees. Needless to say they charged me with full price of the stay. 
After that I tried to reach them by phone to explain myself, but employee doesn’t speak English, so he just hangs up on me. I sent them a message using their “contact us” form, since they don’t have any email address. No answer either. Eventually customer service of “booking company” contacted them and told me that they have no interest to speak with me and also in returning any money to me.

Very disappointing and unsatisfying experience. Strongly do not recommend this place.

Do not recommend

We booked this hotel after having made 30km Route in Mullerthal. In this 3* property we found very good quality of sleep and the delicious breakfast. All this at 50 euro per person. We didnt need more. Right in the city centre and very close to bars and pubs.

Very good quality of accommodation for the price paid

While my husband went off to park the car, my friend and I tried to check in.  The hotel was closed.  On the door was a sign saying it was their closing day, but there was a contact telephone number.  I remembered that English was not among the spoken languages, so called my husband to call  them, and some one was sent to let us in.  Only speaking English and Flemish, we had to get by with hand gestures and an odd French word here and there, but managed to check in and were given keys to the room.  There was no left and she had told us "premere etage", but the premier etage had a restaurant and reception, so up another flight of stairs.  At check in there has been some confusion about the room, as a friend was with us, we had booked a room with 2 double beds, that was called a mini suite, but we were given two keys, and couldn't find the umber of the key I had in my hand, but we found the other one, in fact it was two rooms, one led into the other, and it was really nice, we were nicely surprised, as we weren't sure what to expect.  The lady, had gesticulated, that to enter and exit the hotel we had to use the back door.  So when my husband arrived at the once again locked front, we had to go down and let him in at the back!!!  The hotel was once again deserted.  It really was very funny.  Maybe even a bit creepy.  So the rooms were very nice, the tv in one room didn't work properly, but that didn't matter, we weren't there to watch tv, the rooms were very nice.  The bed was rather hard, not great for anyone with a back problem.  Breakfast the next morning was fine, we had expected that the hotel would now be open at the front as it was not their closing day, but it remained locked.  I think we were the only customers, and there was never anyone there, except during the morning for breakfast and cleaning, so it was all rather funny.  So what can I say, really nice mini suite, great location, nice view over the square, not a good bed, and really nothing else to say, maybe we were there at the wrong time of year.  We were only there for two nights, and no cause to complain, it was just a bit strange.  Luckily my husband can speak both french and German and was able to explain to the lady who did breakfast that the tv didn't work, but she couldn't do much about it.  We had fun, and the whole situation did make us laugh a lot.

A strange experience

Took a bit to find the hotel as it is in the pedestrian area. Garages round the back for your motorcycles. Rooms are very small and hot. We where on third floor which is up in the attic. No lift, so very difficult with biking gear. Health and safety does not come into it!!
Breakfast is one floor down, which was very basic. This place is fine for one night passing through, would not want to stay much longer. In the middle of own so ideal for restaurants and pubs.

Ideal position with parking

As a group of 6 motorcyclists we wanted a hotel which was located centrally with secure parking and this hotel ticked those boxes. Parking is just at the rear of the hotel and consists of a row of several small units each capable of housing 3 large motorbikes and you are given a key to come and go as you please.

The hotel is located centrally on a pedestrianised area directly next to restaurants, pubs, shops etc.

As far as the hotel itself goes, it is OK for the money. Everything is pretty basic with smallish rooms but clean and comfortable. Small volume toiletries are supplied and the bedding/ towels are changed daily. The breakfast is again, basic continental but as its included in the cost of the room , its sufficient.

If you are looking for a hotel which is of a high standard then this may not be the one for you. However, if you are looking for a pleasant and comfortable hotel located in the centre of Echternach with secure parking the Le Pavillion would be a good choice.

Centrally located and good for motorcyclists

People must be aware there is no staff at the hotel after 10PM and no way to contact anyone for assistance. Case scenario when your room mate goes to the room first and goes to sleep and you arrive at the hotel at 10:15 all doors are locked no one present you do not have a phone with you numerous attempts to knock on door with no response restaurant next door cant help  you are left out on the street till 7AM till staff return to hotel. This is only one problem there are many scenario's where a staff person should be present over the night eg. fire, health emergency, robbery or issues with the room so be aware you are locked in and on your own till 7AM the one door key will let you in to the hotel but when your room mate takes the key to go early to the room and the staff on checkin don't inform you that there is no one present after 10 and you need the key to enter you are on your own for the night out on the street. I suggested that they have a staff person at night or some form of contact information at the door so this would not happen again
