The location is amazing but room standard of  cleanliness is very bad and the bathroom is disgusting. The smell from the bathroom drain was horrible  . I intended to extend my stay at yacoub  but I had to move to beirut. But Sidon is very beautiful 

Amazing but let down by the room standard of cleanliness 

It is surprising how expensive hotels are in Lebanon and how difficult it is to find budget ones. But then, when you find them, they are very old and bad. 

This is applicable to this hotel, where we still got a discount and paid 50US$/night after bargaining. But this is still a very expensive price for the service we got, as there was no hot water, the bathtub was dirty (there were hairs in the hair catcher), the room was very spartan, wifi was weak, there was no breakfast, and it was noisy, as in the evening we could still hear from the second floor the conversations from the reception.

The only positive points were the good location and the young guy who attended us, who was kind and nice enough.

Talking about the location, we can recommend the Falafel Abou Rami "restaurant" (absolutely delicious!) and Sharqy Cafe, while Sidon's old town and its ancient highlights are really worth visiting.

Don't trust Lonely Planet!

Stayed here for a couple of days because Saida doesn't have anything else to offer in terms of budget hotels, but I didn't think it was worth the 50 euros I paid. It was old, cold and I saw way too many insects. Heating barely worked, and I didn't have warm water one day. Whenever I needed someone, half of the time there was no one around. Saida's old town is like a ghost town at night too, so I didn't feel comfortable going out after dark either.

Very bad hotel. No light bulbs in the room. Very dirty hotel. Sheets were dirty and they   are not changed. The bathroom is dirty. This was a bad experience!!!  Not to be repeated.  At this point we are looking for another hotel.

Run by a couple of chain smoking teenager boys.

It’s dirty. Smells of feet. The don’f Change the bedding! Paid for breakfast but didn’t get breakfast. 

This is the last place on earth you wanna stay. Read the other reviews. 

Pay $50 and you will regret it, I promise.

Don’t!!!!!!

The entire building is very old and without any maintenance. The room looks very little welcoming . The toilet is old and dirty. The place is noisy. The personal not too much friendly. The only good thing is the location in the city centre.

Dirty, old, destroyed

My arrival time was after midnight and i made i clear when i booked the hotel. The Hotel was extremely difficult to find with a very small sign on the wall.. i had to ask people to help me find the place.. I get in, no one is on the reception, they had left a phone number for me to call ( but i don't have a phone on me so how could i call??) so i asked some random people for help to call the number, a man answers and says he'll come down in 3 minutes. 
When he arrived, we quickly checked in. The whole place is very dated.. the room had great potential but it was filthy. The bed was not clean, the pillows yellow, the sheets old and very used. The bathroom was filthy. i couldn't even take a shower.. The room had a broken AC and the mosquitos were everywhere. There was no water to drink or anything! i just could not stay there. I took all my stuff, paid the rent for two nights (EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE) and left. I slept in the car that night. ( also, they claim to have free car parking- well they DON'T )
They didn't even apologise.. i will never ever go back there again and i would never recommend this place to anyone!
