We didn't actually stay there but apart from the excellent location near the city center I want to highlight the owner's kindness. Our place had to close down due to the protests and he was extremely welcoming and considerate when we asked for help. Thank you once again. Special feature: two adorable cats!

5* for the owner

You get what you pay for. If you are on a budget, and want to be in the city center, this is the place to be.
Rooms are very basic, bed and locker. Air con too. Very important in Beirut.
Bathrooms are fine too,  bring your slippers. There is hot water.
The owner is an amazing guy, he will help in any way he can.
Recommend this place definitely!

Basic, cheap, in the middle of the city

i called the owner in the last minute ,and he was very welcoming ,than i faced some problems so i delayed my arrival day ,i was in the hostel at 12 pm the guy in the desk was so nice he gave me water and take my suitcase to the second floor.
the hostel from outside is not really nice ,but from inside its clean and cosy ,people working there are smiling and helpful .the owner showed me how to get a bus in a reasonable price while i was going to take a taxi ,and he took my heavy  suitcase down when i was leaving .
only one problem water is cold and needs time to get hot

Taking in concern the accommodation options in Beirut a must place to Saturday for. budget travelers

Hotel staff was really friendly and helped a lot. However keep in mind that this is a cheap hotel to stay overnight.Just acceptable for the price. If you’re looking for comfort you may look for somewhere else. Also wifi  should have been free of charge. By the way there is no sign of hotel outside of the building.

Cheap but Off-Graded

Talal Hotel is very clean and walking distance to downtown,hot water available 7/24.staff very friendly and kind .the owner of the hotel mr.zahir is very helpful,approachable and really understanding customers .

Nice hotel and nice owner! I had a great time, you get a lot for the money that you need to pay, very cheap accomodation on a good location.

This place is a dump!!! Its even worth than on the pictures. First I spent a lot on telephone and taxi, because the address on hotels.com is a bit further and they have no signs on the building. Secondly, the room with without windows, which should be mentioned in description. Its about 80 years old building without ventilation - go figure how bad it smells. No free wifi, you can buy credit, they charge you per Mb! I havent seen this even in Africa. They dont use blankets, but some kind of light rugs - they dont wash the rugs, so you pretty much smell all the 100 people that slept in it before  you. I am not even going to continue about the showers and toilet.

Avoid even if you are tightest budget! Dump!

Great value for the amount you pay. Central location and there's a bus station for the northern region nearby. The host is very welcoming and helped me a lot during my stay.
