The place is cozy and full of positive energy .. the rooms are clean and nicely decorated .. the terrace has a beautiful scenery and the food is really delicious Stuff is friendly and helpful …I highly recommend to visit Deir el Oumara for  a week end or at least for lunch at the terrace 

A tasty lunch at Deirdre el oumara ….

Staying at the hotel is a new nice experience since its a historic hotel and has a breathtaking view, but the rooms are outdated , didn’t smell so good , we tried to change the room but they didnt have available rooms so we were stuck for the entire stay , keeping the window open was not enough , the toilet plumbing was blocked, the beds are not comfy and furniture is so old,but the bed sheets were clean   ..No AC’s , The breakfast had very limited options,but the waitresses were so nice and helpful. They don't have visa , you have to pay everything in cash or Transfer with OMT before and upon arrival, but the staff is super nice and friendly they try to help and do their best ,but i Guess the owner is not so flexible … For the price I guess it’s fine. But they need to put more into cleaning the rooms 

An Ok Experience

Located in a sunny courtyard facing Deir El Qamar's main square, the Al Midane Restaurant specializes in Lebanese mezze and local food. Decorated in a traditional style, the restaurant lends itself perfectly to an extended lunch.

I just love deir al qamar -it is actually one of the most beautiful lebanese towns with its famous ottoman attractions 
The atmosphere of  this B&Bb is simply amazing and the rooms  are spacious and welcoming 
The staff are really friendly and detail oriented
Christmas dinner was delicious and varied

Deir el Oumara

The management of this hotel canceled our booking after we received the confirmation and paid the amount. Somebody from the hotel called us to inform us that there was a mistake and the hotel is fully booked on that date.

It is obviously that once they get a better price they cancel the previous booking.

This is unethical and unprofessional.

Unprofessional and unethical treatment

Very bad and unexpected behavior from the management of Deir el Oumara. We have booked 5 rooms and they asked us to transfer the money by western union and based on their request we did. after several days we received a call from the management saying that there are no places on the booked date as they have marriage and the hotel is full. 

They canceled our booking and transferred back the money. 
Just to share with the people the ethics of the management.

Very bad and unexpected

We were a party of 6. Although we made reservations ahead of time, the place was cold the service was horrible, under staffed and I literally had to call the waiters from the reception area many times to get any service. The food taste was average, the portions were not enough to feed 4 people, and the mixed grills plate was tiny and only had very few pieces of meat. I don’t remember ever being in a stingier restaurant. I was very disappointed and most of all, embarrassed in front of my guests. I would never go there again or recommend them to anyone.

Horrible service and stingy

This is by far the worst hotel I have been to.. They stole the wedding cake, not a single invitee ate from the cake . The excuse was they dont have any dishes. They didnt open any champagne as they promised. The bride left her bouquet, they didnt even bother to send it to her room. The owner/ manager was so rude to the guests.

'We went there for my husband's birthday. He has been there before and really liked the place so it seemed like a good fit.
The setting is lovely, and the welcoming at first was warm but there is were it all ended.
The food was ok, not bad but then again nothing to set it apart from the rest. However the service was very poor. The waiters were very slow, understaffed and not at all professional. We asked for toothpicks, they had to keep moving them from table to table because that is the only set they had!
When we called to book, they told us it was 90.000LLpp for a mezza menu including machawi etc....
when we got there the price suddenly upped to 95.000LLpp. their excuse, there must have been some misunderstanding??? really in 2 days... plus the mezza selection was questionable especially the hot selection. 
When it came to the machawi, they only got 2 platters with 2 small slices of toasted bread with garlic, we were 7 people on the table!!! we asked for more but by the time the 1 extra slice came, no one wanted it. we asked for extra meat, they said let us check if we still have some in the kitchen?
we had to constantly ask for the ashtrays to be changed or at least emptied.
we enjoyed our time because we were in good company and we are the type of people that like to take our time and eat which they thought was a bit weird. the place was not fully booked so it shouldn't have mattered.
Such a shame that the service has gone down hill. will not be recommending it.
