What a place! Go for the suite or superior room. Don’t miss the breakfast. Pet friendly and quiet. Walking distance to everything. Spa and massage at the hotel. Excellent for local walks or just a chilled stay away from everything. Perfect any season of the year!

I really liked the reception, very warm and inviting. The interior was just the way i like. I also liked the variety of breakfast😋 It was a good homebase during my visit and i have already made plans to go again very soon. The matron of the house was so friendly and i felt really welcomed. The room i stayed in was also very lovely and spacios:) Every question i asked was answered and things recomended. It had roman feel to it. 
And despite that the hotel was full, it was so very quiet there, so one can really have a big sleep of days adventures and a long ride.

Beautiful interiors finished with antique wood, luxurious bathrooms, great finishing touch, plenty of nice paintings, helpfull stuff. All place in old manor house at amazing unspoiled river Venta.
We were offered few rooms to choose from, each one is unique.

It was very helpfull stuff enjoying their job. The building made good impression, It is really authentic. Everything was clean and convenient. Good wifi. Tasty breakfast.
A little bit far from the old town, but it is a small town.

I visited Kuldiga for the second time and had the good luck to get my stay in Virkas Muiza hotel. Rooms in old style and everything worked fine. The hotel is some minutes drive from the city center and around the hotel are Russian 70 s style houses.

We’ve just visited Virkas muiža. It is a beuatiful building with its history. We booked one of the mansard rooms (Prepare yourself for some head banging at the ceiling). The room was nice, warm, quite small, felt clean. The reception was really nice. We had our dog with us, paid extra 15€ for that. It was super quiet, as it seemed, that we were the only guest there. As we stayed during the lockdown, there was only one dissapointment as it is not possible to eat in a restaurant. We paid for breakfast (15€ for two), but the presentation was poor. We received a takeaway bag with one croissant, small salad packed in a plastic tray and tetrapack juice. Seemed a bit overpriced at this point. However, it was tasty. Just felt a bit like a lunch bag at school. 
This place would have a huge potential, if it wouldnt have the Soviet buildings all around it. 

Super nice and elegant manor. Interior is made with respect for historical and classicism values. Rooms are nice, clean and thougthfully furnished. The biggest cons are the view from the window and the surroundings. Unfortunately - urban houdes and car service. If you are lucky to get are room with a view to the stadium, it’s much better. Great for travellers with car as this place is a little distant from the city center.  Rooms with bathtab are just superior.

Terrific property with wonderful rooms! We've fascinated by the rooms (super king) - it was very spacious, with huge bathroom, everything very stylish - rural/fancy design, extremely clean and well appearing. The check-in was nice and effective, parking on the territory was a bit packed, but still possible. The breakfast was an extra - but well worth the tiny costs (8 eur or something like that), and while not too much choice, we got things made to order and staff was very welcoming and willing to please. They also suggested for us nice place where to take dinner in Kuldiga 

It is outside of main streets of Kuldiga, and not only on the outskirts, but kind of in the middle of soviet time sleeping area, which I would never imagine from the photos of the property - I thought it is restored mansion outside / by the nature, but we found we are in the middle of some old style grounds at the morning. Another serious miss for me, especially if thinking of 4 star rating - there is no restaurant for the evening/dinner.

The hotel is located in the far end of the Kuldiga city, surrounded by few multi-apartment buildings and some technological buildings. Would it be possible to cast them away, the place would be wonderful... The hotel itself is recently renovated and very nice decorated with lots of paintings on walls and antique furniture. The staff is friendly and extremely kind. Rooms are clean. The downside - only ventilation is through the windows. Therefore, in the winter time the air in the room is either heavy or cold. The breakfast was served with broad choice. Maybe too broad.  When the hotel is rather unoccupied, I would suggest allowing clients to choose a more specific choice of food for reasonable price. For example, I would prefer coffee, orange juice and croissant for 4 or 5 EUR, instead of excessive choice of food for 7,50. The room is equipped with electric kettle and TV, the bathroom supplied with soap and shower gel sachets. This place is definitely worth to recommend.

Nice, freshly refurbished place with antique touch. Virkas muiža should be one of top choicea where to stay while visiting Kuldiga. Clean and cosy, with welcoming stuff. Good breakfast. Only may be a bit far from old town, but half an hour walk should not prevent you from staying there.

Very nice hotel with some minor drawbacks

Except the room that's small with single layered blanket to put on, rest is all clean and well maintained hotel. 

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with varieties and fresh juice. 

The only problem was, since I was in December, the room was little cold and they don't have either extra blankets or pillows.
