We had a two-story bungalow which was quite spacious while being inexpensive.  Everything was up-to-date and well-maintained.  Food at the restaurant was quite good - it seemed to be a very popular spot for groups going up the Latvian coast as it is probably one of the best restaurants on the road from Engure to Kolka.  We borrowed bicycles and had a great time cycling on the hard sand trails in the forest going towards Berzciems.  (I look forward to going back and taking a much longer bike trip around Engures Lake.)

Well maintained, good value near the water

Disaded to have lost lunch there because our first option- Engure cafe- was closed and weren’t disappointed. Interesting menu and very tasty fish, snails. Also options for meat eaters. Definitely we’ll come back. Recommend this place!

Tasty fish and nice atmosphere

Disappointed 🙁 My grilled pork was dry and tough, and I'm sure the seasoning was Vegeta - pork should be good in Latvia, especially in the country. The  sauce tasted like tinned mushroom soup. The chips were greasy, factory-made and over-salted - we can salt our own food to taste. There was one pickled cherry tomato on my plate - come on, good tomatoes are plentiful and inexpensive at this time of year! It was not worth the price (€10).

My wife was equally disappointed with her pork fillet.

This place was quite good a couple of years ago, it's a shame it's come to this 😐

Disappointing Restaurant

My husband's family is originally from Engure, which is how we ended up in this dinky little spot in Latvia. There aren't exactly a lot of options for accommodation (pretty sure this is the only spot, actually), but this met our needs. Unfortunately we don't speak Latvian, but the people at the little tourist centre/museum thing were amazing and called the owner of this place.... we met him there, as the hotel wasn't technically open for the season yet, and we had to pay in cash. He didn't speak English, which meant my highschool German came in handy. (My teacher would be so proud!) The room was very clean, bed was fine. There was nobody else about, but during season I think this place would be quite good, with a sauna etc. We ate at the little restaurant across the road, which had a menu in English, and it was really good.

Cute, quiet spot

Had lunch here on my way through. Nice mushroom soup and delicious pork chops. A bit pricier than in other places but tastes were fabulous. Service was good and speedy and staff spoke English quite well.

Good restaurant

We booked lux room to celebrate a very special event and wanted the best out of the hotel, however, these was more of a disappointment from this visit.

The Lux room definitely did not meet our expectations for what it was; a small, dark room with a view on the noisy highway passing the hotel. It was indeed difficult to have some sleep.
The restaurant did not serve any meals though it was pretty early, 9pm.
No breakfast was available without prior booking that was not possible to make. You couldn't go to retaurant in the morning and order though the chef was there.
Just a couple of small towels in the room.

Other that that the area is beautiful, the sea is near, the village is cosy, the food in the restaurant is really good (previous experience).
So I hope it was just a bad day for hotel's staff
