Maybe I should be more open-minded and get to know the culture in this region better.  There seemed the hotel was holding an event at the night that I stay.  I was on the third floor but felt right on the stage.  The music was loud and the bass was like shaking the floor.  According to the clerk, they normally play the music until midnight.  If you go to bed late, or no need to get up early, or enjoy the overwhelming music, this can be a good hotel for you.  The room provides the basic need.  The one I stay has no window at all which can be dangerous in case of emergency.

Need to be more open minded to stay in this hotel

I stayed at Dao Kham Hotel,Vientiane for 1 night
first the toilet did not work, not flushing, called the hotel to fixed this, they said they fixed it but it still do not work, called again now they came and then said they cannot fixed it
asked to change the room- not available, the hotel was full 
then during the night the music started, floor shaking loud music that go on until 230 am
come down in the morning using elevator, it so stink from someone vomited in the elevator, almost stepped on it
the building, room are fine but not a well run hotel

Dao kham hotel

This hotel has a lot of minases:
1. Staff is not English speaking
2. Rooms are dirty, dust is everywhere (dirty windows, furniture and bathroom)
3. The elevator is so old that it's very hard for it to open doors.
4. The location is not good, but not far away from city center. Approximately 30 minutes by walk.
5. It's impossible to sleep at night. The Karaoke bar and night club are closed to the hotel. It seemed that I slept in the bar.
6. Staff is very slowly 

The only 1 thing I can mention as a plus - huge plates of food in the restaurant. Breakfast is poor. 

It's difficult to find something good 

i have been to this hotel twice now as part of a visa run from pattaya, so i have no idea how much the rooms are as we were part of a coach run. The hotel is quite grand for a budget hotel, the staff are very very polite, the rooms are very spacious indeed and of high quality. mini bar etc Thy have a karaoke bar/lounge (i have never seen anyone in it) and a massive convert hall which sometimes holds mammouth weddings etc, but this has never kept me awake but has other guests, also they host events on the car park too, so just be warned that you may become part of a party lol - The food - Lao-Thai (EVENING MEAL) is excellent and great value

Very Spacious Rooms

Unless you want to party with way to young girls until 2.30 am at their disco, this is not the place for you. It is worn down, unsafe, dirty and full of mosquitoes. Their night club will keep you awake until 2.30 am, the drunk guys and girls running around the hallways will keep you awake even later. The food in the restaurant have sent me to the toilet, where I have spent the last 12 hours. The Wi-Fi sucks and the TV's don't work. I can't think of one nice thing to say about this place.
