We loved the Capital Hotel. The rooms were spacious and very nice. The hotel grounds were very nice and we enjoyed the pool. The location was great...just a few minutes from many things to see and do.

Great!

This is the only hotel I stayed in while in Laos so I don't know if this is typical. 

We were greeted warmly and guided to our room. The wooden floors had so much polish on them they were dangerous in socks. You could actually fall and hurt yourself, oddly. Tiny room with small tv, remote, very firm bed, closet with hangers and a safe. Toilet seat hinge was obviously broken. 
Right outside the window was a small market off the main road with A LOT of foot traffic and noise/music. We asked if we could move because we wanted to sleep and couldn't. They happily moved us and even made my wife toast for her stomach and no charge. Friendly staff. Floors of room # 2 were same and dangerous. No elevator I saw. 

There was no WIFI in either of the rooms we had. Only in the lobby/dining areas. Kind of a bummer when you want to relax and send photos back home laying in bed. 

Breakfast was not that great. Very basic - Some pastries, some meat, some fruit. Not a lot of choices. Coffee was very good. Service was fine.

It's a three or five minute walk to the Night Market area with the sidewalks being repaired nicely at the moment. Very safe area to walk around in at night. FYI don't trust any traffic signs while walking to and from the hotel.

Just Okay

We had a couple of nights at the hotel recently & enjoyed its close proximity to town
& the markets.The breakfasts were great & having a nice pool made it easy to relax after a day walking or shopping.There was a slight problem with the Wi Fi  but the staff were very friendly & helpful.

COMFORTABLE & CLOSE TO TOWN!!!!!!!!

We stayed in this hotel for a 5 day stay in Luang Prabang. We received a free upgrade from the hotel staff to a beautiful clean and large vip room with a nice view on the garden. The hotel room was well equipped with all facilities. The swimming pool is small but beautiful located in the garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is possible to arrange day trips to e.g. the waterfalls. Also possible to rent a bike for a city tour. Good hotel for children. We recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel with a good service

Everything is impeccable the reception, the rooms, the small shop, the restaurant, not to mention the very professional staff only the small balcony, the swimming pool, the sliding floor attention.

I'm at the top.

We stayed three nights as part of the tour group. Luang  Prabang is a UNESCO world heritage site. Construction of more than two stories not allowed. Comfortable hotel not luxurious. Has a homely feeling. Spacious bed rooms and  comfortable beds. Bathroom has bath and separate shower. Good AC. Has nice swimming pool. Nice place to stay.
Breakfast adequate, not many local dishes, nothing special. I liked coffee here. Has bitter taste and burnt caramel flavour. However it was not to everyone's liking. Not very hot. Provided with coffeemate sachets. I used milk from the buffet table.
Greatest thing is staff. Ever smiling and attentive. And always around.
Good wifi, download speeds around 14 to 16 Mbps.


Comfortable hotel, not luxurious. Superb staff. Breakfast could be better. 

This is a resort hotel which just misses being great.  It isn't in the centre of the town, 10 minutes walk from the night market and main street but it is in a very quiet area with 2 storey buildings set around beautiful gardens and a pool.  My room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a balcony but there are a couple of things that could be improved.  There is a kettle and cups in the room but no supplies and the breakfast is disappointing.  Very little choice and the cooked food was usually cold.  I think it was possible to get freshly cooked eggs at breakfast but there was very little information about the hotel and its amenities available, none in the room or at reception, apart from some info about the spa. The dining room staff were friendly but the reception staff never seemed to be around.  It just felt like with a little more effort you'd have felt like a welcomed guest.

Just misses being amazing

Very pleasant hotel, rooms are spacious and clean, the pool side is very pleasant and well arranged, breakfast is worth a single visit to this hotel and there is one for every taste and the boss is always there to satisfy your wishes.

A good hotel.

The location was good with a 1k walk into the town. Staff were very pleasant, apart from an older lady on reception who needs some customer care training. 
The grounds are very pleasant with a nice swimming pool, but there was a lack of sun beds and they did run out of towels.
We had room 55 on the ground floor, couldn’t pick up a WiFi signal, only seemed to be any good in reception.
We did notice that cleaning of the bathroom wasn’t as it should be. The area around the sink hadn’t been wiped properly. In addition, we couldn’t find a spare roll of toilet paper.
A complaint we heard from several guests was they weren’t overjoyed with the breakfast.
If these areas were addressed, the hotel would be in the very good category

Room for improvement 

Stayed for a couple of nights as part of a group tour of Laos.
Luang Prabang is absolutely beautiful and I would have liked to have stayed in the city for longer.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the old town and is in a quiet suburban setting.
The grounds of the hotel are well designed and laid out and create a peaceful, tranquil setting.
The room was quite small but clean and well designed.
Wi-fi was a bit patchy. The kettle and toilet seat were broken, the former being remedied upon request but not the latter.
The room safe was a bit complicated to work out but got there in the end.
Breakfast was uninspiring and though the wine was a bit overpriced.
Perfectly acceptable hotel for a couple of nights, although would have preferred to be closer to the old town or the river front.
