Booked a private room, which really was stunning. Super hot showers. Comfy bed.
Breakfast was included for £18 a Nt....

Location... Stunning. I swam in the river.
Bit far out of town, but not a problem. 
Walk, 20 mins...or tuk tuk. 30,000 kip.
The hotel charges 90k, which I declined because I'm travelling solo.
Okay, if you're in a group, I suppose.  But I just started walking & soon got a Tuk. 30k
This place could be soooo much more.
Staff =Rude. I'm not expecting them to speak any English.  But a Smile wouldn't go Amiss.
French Owner = Rude & V Miserable. 
Breakfast... which was included
Coffee, Omelette,  bread.fine with that but, no juice & I had to pay 10000 kip because I take milk in my coffee????

This was at the end of my trip through Laos & the worst unfriendly hospitality I've encountered. 
Usually, the Laos ppl are very smiley like myself.😁. Not here.
Kinda put a downer on my trip 


Disappointing 😞 

The room was basic, rustic and clean. But from the different terraces (with hammocks) you have such great views over the Nam Khan river, so that there was no need to be inside the room anyway. There is also a very cozy lobby where you can relax and have some cold drinks or food. The stuff was very friendly and helped us with transportation or planning trips to the surrounding sights. Unfortunately, to the historic center it is a walk of nearly 30 minutes, so we decided to take the Tuk Tuk every time. But all in all this is a very quite, cozy and beautiful hostel and worth the money.

Cozy hostel with great riverviews

Just came with the Slow Boat and arrived here, stayed for about a week. I also talked to an Aussie staying for several months already. Definitely a place to relax, calm down, enjoy the river and go for a swim. I stayed in a private room with fan, was not too small and had plenty of space. In the evening you can also go for playing pool in the lodge or challenge the owner of this place in chess (if you believe in yourself, I did not).

Calm and wonderful experience

I loved my stay at Sa Sa Lao. I stayed in the dorm and was very comfortable there, the beds are very comfy and they have mosquito nets. 
I swam in the Nam Khan river every day of my stay which was such a nice extra because it was so hot!
The staff are very kind and helpful, and I also was lucky enough to experience the Sa Sa cruise organised by the guesthouse. 
They have a nice restaurant and bar too with really good food and cocktails. 
I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Luang Prabang.

Great place to unwind and enjoy the views

We stayed there for 5 days, and we experiences a very pleasent stay. 
The location is really nice, as it is 10/15 min walk from the center. 
The staff is really nice and helpful. 
The reception is peqceful, you have facilities to rest facing the mekong river! Very beautiful view

The room are very clean, beds are very confy and have mosquito net 

However, there is no glass on the windows but only shutters. 
We havent looked up the weather forecast before we arrived... 
And it happens to be freezing during our stay 
So we were really cold during the night 
But it was our fault! Just make sûre you look up the weather before coming 

Really nice stay 

We stayed in the private room which are so nice and cozy 
The matress are very confortable 
The restaurant is very good and the staff so nice 
Not too far from the city center and even closer if you grab the free 9:30 TukTuk :-)
We also had the SaSa Boat cruise which is amazing 
We will definitely come back 

Great relaxing place

I was looking for a really chilled place to stay after a busy few days. It was really relaxing and I found the staff to be extremely helpful! Khop Jai to all of the lovely staff. They try extra hard to communicate in English even though it isn't their first language. The food is very fresh too!

Very relaxing

Loved the bonfire night in front of the river the time it was so cold. Beds have mosquito nets. I had plenty of area to meditate and be quiet and do yoga near the river/gardens. The food was a bit expensive though well prepared. The walls are of bamboo so not soundproof but it didn’t feel suffocating as I experienced in another hostel with walls of stone. Most doors were squeaking though. A bit off the city but quieter and there were cheap good restaurants nearby.

Nice rustic ambiance with river view garden

This place was so calm and relaxing. I enjoyed my time here hanging out in the hammock overlooking the river. Good food, sweet staff, and a much needed comfortable bed! They also offer a really great sunset cruise that I would recommend for one of your evenings.

One of my favorites

We stayed at Sa Sa Lao for one night when we first got to Luang Prabang before heading out to Vangvien. We stayed another 4 nights when we got back. They were very friendly and helpful and had two adorable puppies that we enjoyed watching play around.
