The hotel is fine however there are no safes and nowhere to have valuables secured. We had money taken from the romm. The police were reluctant to give us any help initially, though there were a number of policemen investigating. 
Breakfast was not good. Instant coffee and eggs that you could play squash with. However there are excellent coffee shops very close by. 
I would not recommend this hotel.

Money stolen from our romm

Whilst the hotel itself was OK but basic, our biggest issue was that we (two couples who had two rooms) both had money stolen from our rooms.  There are no safes in this hotel.  I see a review on bookings.com from April 2019 saying the same thing - money taken.  Whilst the hotel said it was the first time it had happened the local police said they had "many complaints" about this hotel.  And they took a lot of money.

Breakfast was a disappointment and we ate out after the first morning.  The whole place was basic but clean and the staff were friendly until we reported our loss to the police.

Money stolen from our rooms

We stayed at Lan Kham Riverside hotel in August 2019. The location was convenient, the hotel was close to everything. Our room was nicely decorated and bright, but the walls were a bit thin. Wifi didn't work that well. We enjoyed having breakfast on their river front terrace with beautiful views of the Mekong river.They also had fantastic local pork sausage.

Nice place

We recently spent 4 nights at this guesthouse. We liked the comfortable beds, the staff and the clean room/bathroom. The shower was incredible - hot, roomy and plenty of water pressure. 

Some negatives: 
- weak and slow WiFi in the room
- noises plumping issues - our toilet made horrible loud gurgling noise whenever the person in the adjacent room flushed theirs 
- breakfasts were so-so

An alright place to stay

We stayed 4 nights. The staff are helpful and polite. We were given an overview of local attractions on arrival. My bag was carried up to our room on the upper floor. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river. The room was small, but adequate. Coffee making facilities were available on the landing outside the room. The flat screen TV was a good size for the room but some channels were poor quality. The bathroom was functional and there was hot water, but it could be cleaner. Breakfast was taken in the hotel's restaurant across the road. It is alongside the river. Breakfast was barely adequate, and I feel that it would be possible to add $1 to the room cost and provide a better breakfast. 

Good location

A group of us stayed at Lan Kham Riverside and the staff was incredibly helpful and made our stay wonderful.  The location was close to everything, with restaurants and shopping nearby.  The rooms were excellent, spacious with decent amenities and perfect river views.  The customer service couldn't have been better!  

I would skip the restaurant - the 2 meals we ate there were not good.  But there are plenty of great places to eat nearby.  We will definitely return!

Great value and views

I had a short break from work in early March and decided to finally travel to Laos. I have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and I loved it.

The location is great, the restaurant is at the river and it is just a short walk to the night market, temples, and other sights. I was travelling alone and never felt unsafe in this area.

The staff is very friendly and always provided a nice cool drink upon returning from outside. The room was decent, quite small but sufficient with some bathroom amenities. The only downside was the wifi, it was not working in my room at all, apart from at the door entrance.

Good location and friendly staff

It’s just beside Mekong River and has a pleasant view. And very good distance to night market, Mount Phou Si, street food market and old town. 
    Even it’s a small building, really right to stay. I will highly recommend to stay there because of the polite staffs, good foods and nice location. And their facilities are also clean. 

Worth it 

Great location and room was reasonably clean and staff was friendly.  I had a view room that was a little bigger than my double bed but had a nice small balcony overlooking the river. Some of the twin rooms in the back looked far bigger.  Easy to walk everywhere so I’d give a top mark for location.

WiFi didn’t work and the attitude was not helpful.  It’s supposed to work. Oh well. Shrug.

Breakfast had a brilliant location on the river with a great view but was horrible.  If the toast met a toaster one was lucky. The bread was barely warm.  Coffee was instant and make your own. I brought my own food to the breakfast that was ‘included’ in the room cost.  It was so bad that I never considered eating dinner there.  The only thing to eat was a banana pancake which was cooked well. 

Another review mentioned the stained linens.  While the towels were definitely high quality, plush and not worn, they must have been purchased from an auction from some hotel that was getting rid of its stained towels.  I know they were clean as you could smell the laundry soap but they were disgusting visually.

The staff were sweet and helpful.  The room was relatively inexpensive but given the countless guesthouses in the area you may be able to get much more for your money.

Mixed Feelings

Good: location, river view and very close to Main Street for market / restaurants. Breakfast at the river with great views. Kind staff. Coffee and tea available, as well as (cooled) water and beers. Room has good airco, water pressure in the bathroom is great- I had the best shower here during my visit in LP. 
Bad: although the main building looks very clean, I had dirty sheets with stains and hairs on them. Also, the towels had some stains. When I requested new ones at the front desk, they were very kind and helpful. No safe in the room. 
Overall: for the price (I paid 50 dollar for a room in the back), I think you can get better accommodation in LP!
