We were to friends arrived to LP for 4 days.
the hotel was nice, clean, cheap and very friendly staff.
the location is great very close to the night market.
i recommend this place to anyone who look for chill and nice place to stay.

We stayed there 3 nights during our trip in Laos. Overall very very good! 
- room was clean and water was hot
- fair price (90.000kip per night)
- owner talks a bit of French and is happy to help (okay not so smily but fine). He has found us a motorbike + booked our trip to Vang Vieng 
- Location is extra! Just near the night market.
- Free coffee + water

Small negative points:
- a bit noisy outside (but this is a feeling we have had overall in Laos actually)
- room not cleaned during the 3 days. 

Conclusion: we recommend this place! 



Tephavong Guesthouse is located only a couple of hundred metres from the main tuk-tuk drop-off point, pretty much in the centre of things. We paid 130,000 kip for a very clean and comfortable twin room. The shower was rather cramped and the wifi was poor in our room but those were the only criticisms.
On another topic; the Money Exchangers in Luang Prabang should carry a warning. If you are fresh off the boat/bus and not used to counting cash in tens of thousands then beware! One or two places will seriously short change you.

great place

I stayed in that place for 2 nights.
The place aroud is very nice and (the garden and around the reception) and the location is great, but The room that I got was very very small. No place to move....
The bed was comfortable but the sheet was quiet old .....
The owner of the place wasn't nice to me (I realy dont know why) but I saw he is friendly with other guests.
In the garden there are some nice wood tables to seat around and free coffee and tea to the guests.

Good location

We came to this hostel as a couple and we had a horrible bad experience.

First of all, the room was dirty and had a mold smell. When we asked to switch to a cleaner one, they said that we should pay 8 dollar more.
At night, the staff made a lot of noise, wheb we asked them to be quiet they were so rude and not nice.
In the morning we wanted to check out, we talk with other tourists and we discovered that each one paid different price on the same room. We got angry that we paid more for no reason and they didn't gave us the money back.
I would really recommend you to stay away from this place.
