Villa Lao Wooden House

Nice quiet garden courtyard that all rooms face.  Coffee and tea on your terrace.  Easy walking to the river and the main streets for shopping eating and people watching.  Owner will pick you up at the airport for a small fee and can arrange tours or bus tickets for your onward travel.  Would stay there again even though there are a lot of options.

We were recommended to stay at the Lao Wooden House by Mr Keng Vongphakdy of Lao Boutique Travel after our 2 day trip down the Mekong river. The Wooden house was one street away from the main Street within walking distance of some great restaurants. The rooms were big and spotlessly clean with great beds and good hot showers. The breakfast with egg's bacon and hot bread rolls was a great start to the day. I would have no hesitation to stay there again. The manager was great and made sure we got to the bus station on time

This hotel is a great find, it’s well situated and has good size clean rooms.
The owner is very helpful and speaks very good English, anything you need he advise you. The breakfast is nice, a choice of Asian or continental and plenty of it.

This was a wonderfully quiet place to stay yet was within walking distance of the Mekong River and markets. The manager and staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us find what we wanted. They even helped book our excursions. Breakfast was very good traditional Lao food that as made fresh just for us. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a great place. Friendly team, and cute location. Rooms are comfy and quaint. And clean. Location is super handy. Even had a personal airport pick up which was great. Suited our needs perfectly. 

They have 8 relatively spacious and very clean rooms, all of them equipped with “what you need” (fridge, bed, TV, air con, safe, an external bathroom) and is located in the middle of old town in a quiet side street. The terrace, were breakfast is offered, is quiet. The price is good. The small staff (family run operation) full of charm and service the Lao, smily way; love it!

Firstly, if you are using Maps.Me or Guru Maps, then the place is marked as Lao Wooden House.
Once I'd found the place, it was great. Service spot on. It really is a building of character. Sadly the house at the side has a lot of chickens who celebrate the dawn vigourously and frequently. And don't mention the dogs.
It's spotlessly clean, was perfect for a couple of days, has off street parking for motorcycles. The location is great for town, river views etc. I'd come again, but with earplugs

200 year old, renovated, traditional Laos wooden house. Well maintained and clean. Ideally situated on the peninsula on a street in between the main street and the river. Perfect for exploring the peninsula and for the night market. Quiet location. The owner, Vong, and his staff bent over backwards to be helpful and to make us comfortable. Nice courtyard to sit outdoors.
 The WiFi was poor - narrow bandwidth, so difficult to access the internet when other guests (and the staff!) were surfing. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room so; whilst the staff were willing to make these, it wasn’t the same as just making your own. Breakfast was in addition to the room rate; it was okay but not great value. Overall, probably not the best value in Luang Prabang and if we were to visit again would probably look for somewhere else.

I chose here because there were great reviews however in all honesty I was disappointed.

Staff were lovely and the room was clean enough however the walls are very thin so it wasn’t restful staying here. 

The villa is all wooden and there at 6 rooms. The messages on the wall when we went in did concern me - please keep noise to a minimum. Please keep the volume down on your TV. ... Our neighbour chose to watch TV all night. Then the new neighbour could be heard snoring and talking. I would love to say I’m exaggerating but I’m not. It is for this reason I would not recommend it or stay there again. 

I found the room small. The light came streaming in through the net curtains in the morning because the windows are east facing. 

The shower was good, powerful and hot. 

Breakfast is simple and tasty. You choose from traditional noodles or eggs the night before.

I think you could find somewhere else to stay that would be a better rest if you have the time to research. 

Not the most peaceful 

Unfortunately the manager or the owner was extremely pushy and every time we saw him he always asked if we wanted breakfast, needed a ride to see the waterfalls, or a lift to the airport. It did not come across as helpful but as desperate pushy. It got to a point we wanted to avoid him. Naturally his prices were a lot higher than the guys on the street. 
It was clean enough and the location is very good. But the carpets in the rooms were buckling and should be removed as they are a hazard besides most likely not the cleanest. Aesthetically it left much to be desired. The grout in the bathroom was painted over with a sealant that did not match. Then you have the warning notices on the wall about level of sound from the TV.  Notices would be ok but the walls are truly paper thin. I would not return here or recommend it.
