La Folie Lodge

What a magical, special, charming place this is - we hope to return soon. We loved our 3-night stay. All the rooms (or chalet's) are riverfront with large balconies to watch sunrise, sunset & the beach and we enjoyed having a cocktail (room service) on them in the evening and reading peacefully after lunch. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The team is excellent with great personal service. Both the deputy manager (a South Indian gentleman who was outstanding) and the manager (who we didn't meet but who we dealt with during booking), could not have been nicer or more helpful. We did various daily excursions through La Folie but also just enjoyed the pool in the hot afternoons. La Folie is a great place to chill and talk and read. Top tip would be to organise your airport transfer through La Folie as it's a huge hassle to do it with a local taxi when u land in Pakse and u have almost no options at the airport. We didn't on the way in and immediately booked a transfer for the departure when we arrived at the La Folie. (Their transfer fee is reasonable too.)
