Pon's River Guesthouse

I spent two nights at this guesthouse last August-2019-and I was very impressed.I arrived in the evening after a long journey from Attapeu and check-in was handled speedily.I want to pay tribute to Mr Terk who was my host while I was there.He was very helpful in organising a car to take me around the island on my second day and the boat trip to Don Det when I was leaving....The restaurant across the road which is part of the guesthouse is a great place to dine at.The food is good,service is prompt and the restaurant is very clean with a perfect view of the Mekong....This is a lovely place to stay and I'm happy to give it 10 out of 10.

been there in their awesome restaurant not in their guestrooms. the food is served on a wooden balcony on the Mekong river.food was tasty and abundant, fruit shakes were delicious,service was polite and quick.reasonable prices

The restaurant is a value for money place here.The food is fresh and tasty. The service excellent. Riverside view excellent. The
 Menu choice was .very good.This is an restaurant next to the river lots of good air but some customers smoking pollutes the air while having dinner. The smoking should be banned in the restaurant. 

Stayed here for two nights after originally planning on staying at Mali guesthouse down the road and finding it shut. We were given one of the rooms on the balcony overlooking the river and found the room to be generally good, although perhaps the bathroom and sheets could’ve been cleaner. We ate there every day at the beautiful riverside restaurant and were happy with the food (although strangely the western food is better than the traditional/Asian food). The family who run it were all very friendly even though most didn’t speak English, and the young man who spoke very good English helped us book our onward travel. Would recommend if you just want a couple of days relaxing by the river.

SMOKING RESTAURANT

Great view, decent food and lovely family

tasty restaurant great location

I often stay at this hotel, (Pon riverside hotel) when traveling down with group. I found that the room is quite clean and staff are friendly. The reason i like to stay here because it's closed to any places such as; restaurant is just in front of this hotel and if i like to visit the local market is only take me about 20mn walk. If i stay in room with fan it costs me only 10$, but if air-con room costs 15$/night. However, it's quite big room with Tv and wifi is excellent.

Good condition room with the reasonable rate.

We stayed at Pon's Guest House as part of a tour in September. Pon's Guest House is not great: the rooms are shabby and the shower arrangements in the bathroom are downright dangerous (water sprays over the electrics). Very poor A/C and this is more a hostel than a guest house. Reading all these reviews, I realised some travellers are confusing this with Pon's Hotel (a few yards down the road and in a different class altogether). Everyone on the tour group complained about Pon's Guest House. However, have to agree that the food in the restaurant over the road is pretty good and for that reason only, it gets 2 star.
