The Grand Riverside Hotel 2 Vangvieng

The good points are: 1) Nice view of the river. Both from the room and a even nicer view from a open-air viewing platform on top of the restaurant (where you eat breakf) where you can see the mountain landscape and river, with small boat carrying tourist going past. 2) Big and clean rooms. Comfy bed. Nice balcony with table and chairs for you to chill. 3) Staff were polite throughout all our interaction.Not so good points: 1) it's quite far from the main towm area where most restaurants / bars and where the night market is located. It's about 1.5km / 20 mins walk. If you take tuk tuk, it will cost you 20k per pax. Hotel doesn't provide any free shuttle service or free bicycle. Moreover, they don't even partner any tuk tuk to be station at the hotel. It takes about 3-5 mins walk to the main road, where you can hail a tuk tuk. That stretch gets pretty dark after sunset. 2) Breakfast runs out fast. Breakfast ends at 9.30 (think start at 6.30). We went at 8am and half the food were no longer available (finished and they don't seem to be replenishing) 3) No / limited tour arrangement services. 4) very weak water pressure for shower
