Taita Rocks Hotel

It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful place. It has a stunning mountain view. See the attached photos. It's cheap, but it's very clean. People are very friendly. The neighborhood is safe. I'll definitely return.

We spend two nights at this hotel. I had the best sleep since a while at Taita Rocks! Soft mattress, perfect cushions. The rooms are very clean and the water is warm. The Taita hills are amazing and staying here makes it even more relaxed.

The Taita Hills, every time I come here I'm happily surprised about it and discover new trails and experiences. Taita Rocks hotel is the perfect spot to be if you want to explore the area by foot or motorbike. Walk straight into the shambas to Wesu or Nyale rock. Hop on a piki back to the hotel and make sure you enjoy the curvy roads close to Wundanyi! Taita Rocks hotel is our preferred partner in the area: good location, good rooms, very clean, nice staff, spacious and a wonderful view over the famous Taita peaks! Can recommend it to all you guys: VISIT TAITS!! And stay at Taita Rocks hotel!

We were with a group of 7 people, sleeping in Taita Rocks for 2 nights. It's a very nice place in the hills of Wundanyi with a great view on the 3 boulder rocks: Iyale, Wesu and Vuria. Definitely a good place to stay and do some great activities. Very friendly and helping staff as well!

Wonderful green place inmidst of Kenya's Switzerland 🤩

- ⁠Very nice garden and restaurant atmosphere 
- ⁠Good food, although your cook had a tendency to spice up the dishes on his own too much, also with ingredients some might not expect and like
- ⁠The rooms are okay, but could be more decorated to create an atmosphere plus more furniture. Each terrace should have a table and two chairs
- ⁠Shower gel and shampoo (body lotion) should be standard 
- ⁠TV and WiFi were not running properly - often interrupted for like 20 seconds

Great hotel, comfortable beds, good rooms with amazing views on the Taita hills. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to explore the Taita hills from, lovely to come back to after a long hike

Taita Hills are an under appreciated destination in Kenya. This hotel is a pleasant retreat. I was fortunate to have the company of one of the staff, Michael, to show me some of the best first and scenic destinations in the area. The lodge is a bit of a climb from the parking area, but he view of Weru Rock and the lush green forests from the rooms is spectacular. Clean and comfortable.

We knew when we booked that there were a lot of steps at this hotel so we were somewhat prepared.  However when we arrived and saw the steps which are all different heights and with no handrail I was rather worried.  We went to the reception which was halfway up and checked in. Our room was at the very top of the steps and on the top floor.  The views from the verandah were lovely.  The room was large but not really well appointed.  There was nowhere to put your case except the floor. No bedside lights or tables. Just one overhead light with no shade. The bathroom was OK. There was a lot of hot water and cold water. Unfortunately they didn't mix so a shower wasn't possible without either being scalded or frozen. We went down to the bar to watch the football match that was on.  While that was on they served a buffet dinner.  There was no starter, just two choices and by the time we got to it all the salad had gone and wasn't replaced.  No dessert was offered. We'd have been better having one of the "with chips" meals that the locals were enjoying but were not given this option. The bed was very comfortable so we had a decent nights sleep. We stayed for lunch the next day which was OK.  The staff were all very friendly and lovely and work hard. I don't think they have many international visitors but it could be a good place with a few extra touches and definitely some HANDRAILS!!
