We arrived at late night - not a good area - and despite having already paid booking. Com with an email to prove it - the manager would not show us to our rooms as he said he wanted more cash . Luckily the taxi had stayed and we returned to the airport to rest overnight in Paul's caffe at the airpor. Good cafe.

Terrible unsafe experience

Close to the airport was the attraction. But not so close as to have to manouvre through a construction site and a high density area that was noisy, dirty, crowded and poorly lit. The 4 km advertised turned out to be closer to 10km  due to the road system and the detours. And that was just to get there. A dim sign in a dimmer street led to the less than welcoming atmosphere of a painted cement corridor, flimsy doors and at best a tacky room. Carpets that were minging, cold water in the shower and an uncomfortable buzz from the shower head, poor lighting, TV that didn't work were complemented by a mosquito net that had the dead bodies of serious numbers of mosquitoes that had been crushed and were still stuck to the net. Electric sockets were hanging out of the walls and the soap was the size of a postage stamp and the towel that had seen countless better days. The night was chorused by buses revving up, hammering of vehicles being fixed and loud music.  Payment in usd cash resulted in change in Ksh - not ideal when only staying for one night. Avoid at all costs.

Awful

This is located relatively close to the airport, so it is convenient when you just want an o/n stay and avoid traffic in both directions, The neighbourhood is quite scary, so go there with a taxi you trust. We were fine, but would not have walked anywhere in the neighbourhood, day or night (especially not at night). Coming and going by taxi was safe.
the owner was all smiles and accommodating, even if she could not find our booking from hotels.com from the day before. May not be her fault at all. She served us food, chicken was our choice and it filled our stomacs, tasted good and did not upset our bowls.
The rooms were crowded with furniture, but was clean enough to be safe.
Hotels in Nairobi can be expensive and this one was very cheap and good enough for the price. The proprietor was the star of the stay - so smiling and friendly! service from start to finish!

A friendly very budget hotel

We were so glad to have this reservation, only 1.9 mi from Nairobi airport.  Our taxi drove several miles through construction zone to get to this area.  At night, on dirt road in construction area, with lots of people walking and vehicles on bumpy road, there were just lights for a Total gas station and Bata shoes.  No sign of any hotel after driving around in the dust.  Called the kind hotel clerk and canceled.  This place looks good but cannot be found after dark.  Am Rebecca, an American living in Kenya for years.
